This company takes tools that are easily. found at no cost online, to analyze your website amd generate reports that allow you to improve your domains search ability in google, bing etc. Theyre business model is no different that many other SEO web crawler tools but the amount they charge is criminal. They give you a free 30 day account. My web developer sign up for it and then quit two week later never informing me that the Ryte account was a paid service.
For 4 months they took $120.00 out of my bank account before I realized the charges on my bank statement. I never recieved any kind of email receipt or invoice recording each withdrawal from my account. I checked my spam folders. I had no way of knowing I had this subscription to Ryte aside from bank statements listing the extremely expensive automatic withdrawals they took every month.
I contacted their customer service via email explaining my situation. The reply was the most insulting when it’s coming from a company who swindled me for $500 in the last four months while I was unaware the entire time.
They referred me via a pasted link, to review their terms and conditions that I agreed to (I didn’t agree) when I signed up. They told me that there was nothing they could do for me and justified the $500 charge because it was covered in the T&C that my web developer had set up while building my website four months earlier. I hadn’t even used the Ryte web crawl / SEO tools maybe once a month) despite being fully aware I had the account, i as totally unaware that I was paying $120.00 a month for the service and that is exactly how Ryte wants it. I asked in an email why they charge so much for tools easily found online that are free.
Conveniently, I never recieved a reply. It’s clear that Ryte located in Germany, could care less about ripping of an American. They know its unlikely I’ll sue over a $500 loss but I am so offended by the audacity they have in charging so much money for free items elsewhere online and not sending receipts or notification each time they take $120 from your bank account. I will surely take the time to warn entrepreneurs like myself of the pitfalls the can come with starting a business along warn them about the predators that accompany them. Ryte is criminal by laws of decency but they hide behind a solid binding T&C so the little guy gets screwed an must just accept it. I recommend SEO tool called Attracta if a reputable crawl service is needed but avoid Ryte if you do business with integrity.
