I've taken my car to Gav's Auto Repair for oil changes and simple maintenance for several years, but recently they raised the price of all of their services quite a bit so beware. In addition, they got rid of the experienced mechanics that they had for many years and replaced them with a couple of kids who don't seem to have any experience and take forever to get anything done. They have also done away with the low price wash that comes with the oil change which was a really nice part of their service. Now they will only run your car through their pretty much worthless automatic wash as part of the oil service, but no vacuum or interior cleaning. They are trying to upsell everyone a $40 fancy car wash and wax, tire treatment and undercarriage wash (which makes no sense in California since we don't have ice and salt on the roads) in place of the perfectly good economy wash and vacuum job that they used to give for like $12 extra with the oil change. In addition, they try to rip you off for basic things like the coolant flush. The girl at the front desperately tried to sell me a coolant flush and said she would give it to me for the "discount" price of $49. I thought that was pretty good so I agreed. Then when she presented me with the proposed charges, there was an additional "parts" charge of $60 with the coolant change!!! So really it was a $110 coolant flush. I asked what the "parts" were and she said this was for the coolant. I didn't fall for this one. A gallon of 50/50 (premixed) coolant (my truck takes a little over a gallon of coolant total) costs anywhere between $8 and $12. Please do not fall for this scam. It seems like these guys are preying on the elderly residents of Rossmoor and hoping no one will know any better. Their gas prices are the highest in town as well. It's really too bad, used to be a pretty decent place. I won't be back. Be changing my own oil and coolant from this point forward, and I guess washing my own car too. It's not rocket science. I would not trust their new rookie mechanics with anything other than the most basic things, they do not seem to know what they are doing and work at a snail's pace.
