I purchased a brand new 2018 gooseneck trailer from Gatormade at their factory in KY on December 7th 2017. The trailer was stored on a gravel lot with good tree coverage. I used the trailer only four times since I purchased it. I didn't put more than 200 miles on the trailer.
In early February of 2019 I noticed some rust developing along the rear of the trailer. Upon further investigation I found that the whole underside of my trailer is rusted. I've had other trailers for years and even after ten years of regular use they did not have the amount of rust this trailer has on it. I reached out to Gatormade and they said to fill out a warranty claim which I did.
They responded back telling me that the "paint" isn't covered under their warranty. They actually suggested I go buy some black spray paint and paint the trailer myself.
Gatormade advertises that their trailers are all powder coated which is what they lead me to believe I was purchasing. I had a local company that does powder coating look at the trailer and they said the rust has nothing to do with the paint but that the trailer was not preped properly and therefore the powder coating was no applied correctly.
The powder coating company wasn't even sure that the trailer was even powder coated in the first place. This trailer is about 15 months old and is rusting out. I would never buy another trailer from Gatormade. Buy from someone else who will stand behind their product.
