Similar experience with Keith DSouza @ Smith Loan Assistance
I had the exact same experience with someone named Keith Dsouza, using the exact same information you have provided. He replied by email saying the original amount was $300 and, even after I pointed out that I have never used one of these services, he continued to state that "The company have more than 14 technical evidences in order to prove that the money was successfully deposited into your bank account." Needless to say, I told him he would be reported to the Attorney General for fraud and have yet to hear any more from this email.
Received an email from a Gary Richard with Smith Loan Assistance claiming I had an upaid debt of 986.45 with Advance America Pay day loans and they had given me plenty of opportunities to remitt the overdue loan.
I do not have any unpaid debts with Advance America. I called Advance American and the representative told me they do not have any affiliation with Smith Loan Assistance and are not trying to collect any upaid debts through a second party dba Smith Loan Assistance.
I replied to Gary's email and informed him that he is a scammer and to cease and desist threatening emails to me and that I am reporting him to authorities and the Attorney Generals Office for my state.
I have not received a response back from him as of yet.
I had to google the company because I haven't made a cash advance in over a decade. I came across your posting and I too was approached via email for 991.67 from a Patricia Diggs. I responded by telling them that they have a incorrect data base that I have never cashed advanced with them and its been over 17yrs since I had any cash advances. Knowing this is a scam, I will block future emails.
