Gary Paul Corcoran Reviews

  • Jun 15, 2018

Gary Corcoran is a writer who advertises 'Ghost Writing' services on his website. Upon initial contact, he seems charming, cordial, experienced and professional as a writer/editor. However, once you sign a contract and send him a deposit of $5,000.00 USD and all of your intellectual property for him to work on as discussed, his personality completely changes. The initial work he sent me was horrifyingly bad, full of obvious spelling, grammatical and logistical errors and not at all what we had discussed he would do with the material I had submitted to him at the start of our contract. He became extremely aggressive and argumentative when I expressed my disapproval, even though our contract clearly states that all work he produces on my project must meet my approval. I gave him notice of termination of the contract, but he continued harassing me and refused to return my deposit. I am now out $5,000.00 USD for nothing. I have reported him to the authorities, but he is truly conniving and refuses to cooperate and return my funds even when faced with charges of fraud and sharp practice. Please avoid hiring him at all costs, he will not listen to you but will still demand payment for extremely substandard work.

Carolyn Burak Is The Real Fraud Here

I recently posted a rebuttal to Ms. Burak's trail of lies and misrepresentations on Medium.com, which was picked up by a news agency and began to appear on the first page of my name search, and which Ms. Burak clearly noticed, because she then created a bogus account on Medium.com, masquerading as attorney Michelle Smith, using that ruse as a platform from which to offer me legal advice, which was itself a canard, her vain attempt to appear as the 'independent voice' and take me down. Medium.com is now in the process of outing her for that deceit, so let's call a spade a spade. This is the kind of person we're dealing with here. Even these four posts here and on Ripoff prove her duplicitous nature. She wants it to appear as if there are multiple persons filing complaints against me, when there is only Ms. Burak, a person who hired me via a completely legal contract, used up two weeks of my life, refused to compensate one dime for that investment of time and has made a career out of defaming me, rather than resolving our differences in a fair and equitable way. Now having added to fraud to defamation of character, she will be very fortunate if I don't finally get fed up enough with her BS and sue her. For now, I will place my trust in the discerning public. It is fair to say we have a contractual dispute, but to lie endlessly in order to ruin somebody, just because you can't bully them into submission? These are the actions of an emotional and spiritual infant.

I recently read another review about Gary Corcoran on this website, and so I was inspired to also share my story in the interest of protecting the unsuspecting public from this individual.

Gary has had a small amount of success as a writer, mostly self-publishing or doing so through small-scale publishing companies. This does NOT make him someone you should trust, as anyone can pretty much self-publish these days and he vastly overstates his success and abilities to potential clients for his "Ghostwriting" scam. I think partly he is delusional and really might believe he is actually talented, but the work he did for me was terrible and like in the other review, he became extremely beligerent and defensive when I politely told him that I was not happy.

He then also refused to return my deposit. This was shocking to me, as the contract we signed also clearly stated several times, with an explicit Garanty attached, that everything should meet my (the paying client's) approval, which is standard in most ethical business exchanges. A month or so of heated dialogue between us ensued, during which he attempted to hold the deposit over my head in order to bully me into continuing to accept work I had not solicited from him. I, too, gave him repeated notice of termination of the contract. He was supposed to return my intellectual property and materials, again in accordance with the contract, but refused to and continued going along as if I had not terminated the contract and we were still working together. He then tried to bill me for more work. The whole thing was completely absurd and highly unprofessional. I considered filing a restraining order.

I finally gave up because it was so ridiculous trying to argue constructively with him, and I lost my $5,000.00 deposit.

Please stay far away from this man and do not under any circumstances hire him to be your writer or editor.
