My son received dental services last spring. I received a bill from Dr. Pykes office last September and it was for over $400. They did not apply my dental insurance at all. I called the office and they said it was submitted and they never received a response from my insurance company. I asked them to resubmit the claim. The woman on the phone seemed annoyed by my request and seemed to have little time for me. I called my insurance company and they said they haven't received a claim from their office in over a year. It is now Oct, and I received yet another bill from Dr Pyke's office identical to the last one I got. I wrote a letter to them asking them to please call my insurance company to determine why my insurance company did not get it.

I received a call from a rude woman at Dr. Pyke's office saying she submitted my claim 4 times. I had to repeat over and over to her that they didn't get it and she needed to call the insurance company. She just kept rattling off the dates that she sent it. I actually had to raise my voice and just keep asking her to call my insurance company. We said she would call. I called my insurance company later that afternoon and they still had no claim and of course, no one from Dr Pykes bothered to call to resolve the issue. My insurance company called Dr Pykes office and was met with another rude staff member. The insurance company tried to explain they never got the claim and asked to go through the process of how it was submitted.

The staff member made it clear to us this annoyed her and insisted it was done properly. The insurance company put us on a three way call so I was able to hear the rude interaction. As it turned out, Dr Pykes office never received a claim number back to show the insurance company received the claim. The insurance company asked her to resubmit today so it can be resolved. The office again seemed annoyed. The insurance company asked if the office can call them tomorrow to make it was resolved. Dr Pykes staff member responded that the insurance company can call them. The rep from insurance and I were just amazed at how rude this woman was and how unwilling she was to resolve this. I'm hoping that they actually follow through and handle this properly but I am not confident. It's a shame because I actually like Dr Pyke. The only reason I am moving to another office is because his staff is so rude and incompetent.
