Fun Town RV Cleburne Reviews

ZERO STARS!! Customer service is TERRIBLE!!

FunTown RV promised us that we would have our RV back by May 23, 2017. Today is July 13, 2017 and despite my twice weekly calls, we have NO expectations of when we will get our RV back, and we have NO update on the status of the repairs.

Not only did we have to reconfigure our family vacation, but we STILL have to deal with the brain damage of an organization that can't retain critical staff, train the new employees who replace those who quit, and never mind TAKE CARE OF CUSTOMERS.

My husband and I have been peaceful, pleading and straight forward, yet here we are: NO RV and NO TIMELINE FOR WHEN WE GET OUR RV BACK.

I am profoundly disappointed. I expected more from FunTown RV. Our experience has shown me that it is a disjointed organization where the leadership puts sales first rather than customers.

I don't know where to begin with this, but here goes... My wife and I bought a 2016 Forest River Sabre from Funtown (Cleburne location) in June of 2016. Salesman: Pete Johnson

The day we went to pick the lemon up, we disturbed to find out that the "technician" knew NOTHING about the RV he was handing over to us. I asked several times about maintenance and how to use several features in the RV, he couldn't tell us anything definitive.

This was frustrating, but we couldn't get anyone else to come help us either. We pulled the RV to storage that day and returned two weeks later for our first camping trip in our brand new camper.

That's when I started really noticing things about the RV that just didn't seem right, like the front door rubbing the jam making it stick when opening and the fact that the AC unit in the front bedroom would not shut off, EVER. The rear bathroom had a disgusting issue, the grey water and sewage were going into the same tank!

Yes, it was a real wonder that it ever made it through QC, assuming they have a QC department. Too many things too list here, seriously. I called the service dept. and finally got someone to agree to send a technician to me to make some repairs. Well, the mobile RV repair guy fixed what he could, but stated that it really needed to go in for service due to the rather long list of defects and bizarre problems.

I called service and they said the waiting list was several months, but to make a list and do it all at once. I did this every time we took it out, something needed to be added to the list.

On our last camping trip in January 2017, it started raining and water started pouring through the nose cap. I was forced to return it to storage after a mobile RV repairman told me it was not the caulking, but the rubber roof sealant locate on top of the camper.

The following week I made an appointment with "funtown RV" service dept. I was then informed that it would be two months before they could accept the RV, which turned out to be March 10th. On March 10th, I dropped the RV off with Allan, he made a list of needed repairs (3 pages worth) of stuff to be fixed.

I received a call from Allan today, May 9th 2017. He called to tell me that warranty does NOT cover the leaking nose cap. That is considered owner maintenance, according to Forest River. How is the rubber roof sealant leaking after only 8 months with very little use? Apparently this unit sat outside for the better part of a year before I bought it.

Allan then told me that he could give me an estimate to fix it, but I told him I wouldn’t be spending another dime with funtown. This is so frustrating to me and I know that I really typed a lot of stuff here, but I really want to save others the frustration I’ve been through.

Bottom line: DO NOT do business with these people!! They are too big to take care of their customers and make sure that they aren’t sending you away with a turd of an RV. The salesman told my wife and me that they would stand behind what they sell and that the RV we chose would be quality checked before we pulled away. BS!

He also said that they would plug it in for 24 hours to make sure everything was good with the unit. They plugged it in to make sure the lights came on and the AC worked, that was all. Pick a smaller RV dealer, you will pay a little more up front, but they will take care of you, funtown will not.

Not an ounce of integrity in this company, buyer beware.
