ABOUT LAURENCE N. GIRARD AND HIS SOCIOPATHIC APPROACH TO DEFRAUDING INVESTORS

This is meant to be a warning about Laurence Girard, his series of failed businesses, and how he defrauds investors. Many investors lost money, not because of a startup failing, but because of deliberate and masterminded fraud behind it. Investors were deliberately lied to about material information such as:

1) Laurence Girard’s education. He claimed to go to Harvard, that he was another Zuckerberg or Gates. Little did we know he was a student at Harvard’s open-enrollment online education program, Harvard Extension School. He used the Harvard brand in his public branding and in his personal branding.

2) Laurence Girard’s relationship to co-founder. Laurence deliberately hid his relationship to his co-founder, when taking our money. Had anyone known he was in a relationship with the co-founder it would have dramatically altered the decision of whether to invest or not.

3) Laurence Girard’s compensation. Laurence claimed not to be taking salary and to be taking minimal expenses. In truth he was taking $15-25,000 out of this company’s bank account on a monthly basis to pay for 2 luxury apartments, stays at luxury hotels, expensive clothing, broadway shows, romantic trips with his co-founder and more. The company was more akin to a personal piggy-bank than anything else.

4) Laurence Girard’s past endeavors. His past efforts were represented as being successful. Crimson Coders went under due to unhappy clients not receiving their deliverables. The few customers who learned who was actually doing the coding were also unhappy that despite thinking they were purchasing coding from Harvard students (Crimson Coders), they were instead receiving horrendous coding courtesy of a Phillipine outsourcing group, Ingenuity Technology Consultants. Additionally, from the information investors have since received from prior business associates of Laurence Girard, Laurence stole money from this other company for personal benefit rather than honoring warranties for clients left with unworkable products.

5) Laurence Girard’s inappropriate relationship with suppliers. Laurence Girard colluded with John Naranjo of Ingenuity Technology Consultants to scam investors. Despite a long track record of intolerably bad deliverables Laurence continued to use John Naranjo and Ingenuity to develop and code. This is despite long experience with Ingenuity cost over runs and missed dates, paired with non-functioning code written to standards that would make the most pitiably code-ignorant sixth grade html trainee laugh. John Naranjo defrauded investors alongside Laurence Girard. Investors are still receiving information on John Naranjo from their investigations and it appears that more may come from another investor.

It is to be noted that Laurence Girard is an extraordinarily gifted socio/psychopath. He is very convincing, which is why he succeeded in defrauding 60 investors of their hard-earned money. It is also why he led so many of us to hold him blameless for so long. His gift at twisting words and lying about others’ words is second-to-none. After being fired, Laurence stole the company’s bank account and drained it of money for his personal benefit. So great is his gift of lying that we sided with him at that point – he had characterized himself as the victimized founder Harvard dropout getting a company stolen from him. In time, he proved himself for what he is. A criminal with no regard for anyone but himself. One moment he is your friend, the next he threatens to sue your pants off, the next you’re best buddies, the next he wants your support “or else,” the next he is trying to bribe us with extra shares in return for voting him as a director, then the next he will sue our pants off if we do not vote for him as a director.

We would hope that anyone investing in anything Laurence Girard related might find facts valuable in determining their appetite for risk and the track record of the potential recipient of their money.

Don't paint Fruit Street with the same brush

Fruit Street is a terrific young startup that is doing something unique in a burgeoning space. The CEO is still 23 years old and you think you are credible in calling him a "sociopath?"

And if that is true why doesn't he have a record? You are clearly bitter and chickenshit to bash a young guy like that anonymously on a message board. What a coward you are...

After responding to an online advertisement for health writers in July (2013), I was hired by Laurence Girard via his contact Kristen Faulkner (along with 499 others I am told), asked to create a personal account on the company's platform, and the provided (via email) with a brief on how articles were to be written. It has been over a month since I began writing for this company.

Laurance Girard, the headmaster behind the creation of Prevently, seems to have quietly slipped behind the scenes. The web address and contact links on the Prevently website do not work however, there is a publically listed email address where I was able to send an email and voice my concern about lack of payment for the articles. I was told to be patient.

After contacting other writers who were also hired by Kristen Faulkner, the hiring contact for Prevently, they too were brushed off, told to fill out the information and to be patient; that the site would be up and running in ten days. The site remains dead.

A little research resulted in the finding of another health website started by Laurence Girard in November, 2012 called Nurtitas. His photo is beside the website so it is clearly the correct Laurence Girard. That site is also dead. My research also showed numerous claims on raised capital that are clearly inflated as he claims one amount in private mail exchanges and a much larger amount on public websites. He has made, from my research, false claims on capital in regards to other companies he has (claimed to have) started as well.

I would warn any writers who come across the name of Laurence Girard (or Kristen Faulkner) seeking writers, especially health writers, to save your time and energy and move on to greener (and paying) pastures. This guy is a complete fraud!

Scammer

Fruit Street is the Welliko Scam’s New Name as Laurence Girard Attempts to Evade his Past Scams

Fruit Street Inc. is now the new name of Welliko as Laurence Girard tries to run away from his reputation to better steal from new investors. Laurence has found it difficult to raise money for Welliko with the publicly available information and quotes attributed to him and has already had to move on to a new name to scam investors. This type of behavior is characteristic of scam artists. Once a scam artist burns one identity or scam he must move on to the next one which in this case is Fruit Street Inc.

As an investor in Prevently, over the past months my family has continually received attempts at paying us off for our silence about the Prevently scam. Laurence Girard has attempted to give me shares in Fruit Street and Welliko in return for a release of liability. On the principal it would be reprehensible for anyone to accept such an offer because it supports a scamartist and disallows people like myself from using our legal rights to seek damages against Laurence Girard, Welliko, Fruit Street, and whatever other companies he may cook up.

Laurence may attempt to change his companies names ad infinitum. It may allow him to dupe some investors sadly but he has created himself a reputation that will stick with him the rest of his life. Call it Fruit Street Inc., Welliko, Prevently, Crimson Coders, or whatever you like, a turd is a turd.

Where does the name Fruit Street come from? That remains a mystery. What is not a mystery is what lies ahead for the unfortunate victims that will result from this new scam by Laurence Girard.

Laurence can keep trying to run from his past – even on Fruit Street – but whatever street he tries to take, the past and the law will catch up to him. Without a doubt Laurence thinks he is above the law and lives in an alternate reality where he believes his words dictate reality. Perhaps Fruit Street is that deluded place in his head where he resides attempting to fabricate his reality?

Fraud and Scam Artists

Laurence Girard is a convincing sales person who cons physician investors who believe he has a viable business model. Based on his own investor deck, Fruit Street has raised over $10M over 4 years with annual revenues of $180K. This is Laurence Girard's 4th failed business - don't invest your money in someone who is fraudulently selling securities and violating anti - kickback laws.

Stay Away

Laurence Girard is selling securities fraudulently - mostly appealing to foreign physicians with a “get rich quick” investment scheme. Laurence is a high school graduate in way over his head. He is very convincing, but there are better places to put your business and your money.

Scam

Was just approached by this company regarding investing.

I asked to very simple questions to their chief of operations

Question: "How did Laurence Girard and the other cofounder meet?"

Answer: " They were introduced."

Question: "Was it online or in person?"

Answer: "I don't know, you'll have to ask the other co founder."

They then mentioned that Walgreens was their largest customer. I asked them how to potential sale of Walgreens to KKR would affect their business. They did not know of the sale at all.

Either a scam or run by an incompetent team. Either way, very happy how it ended up. Did not invest.

Learning Curve

Fruit Street Health (FS) is entering its third year and has seen remarkable growth during this time. It has developed relationships with providers, academic institutions and corporate enterprises in the healthcare industry. I believe FS will continue to make strides and seek new opportunities to bring value to both its internal and external customers as well the telemedicine space in general. As a seed investor, I most certainly hope this is so.

Perhaps much of the experience Fruitstreet is currently experiencing is the direct result of Laurence's earlier professional and personal failings. Indeed life presents challenges to all of us and affords us the opportunity to choose how we will respond. I believe Laurence has chosen well.

I understand many of the disgruntled comments as it is never pleasant to lose money in a startup. I did my homework in investigating Laurence and his previous activities and at the end still chose to support him financially and intellectually. I am happy I did so. Success is a long road. With each day comes a new opportunity for FS to prove itself while understanding reputation and success can be lost overnight. I believe Laurence understands this and continues to take the company in a positive direction.
