I was in need of a home security company and/or system. While searching for the right company, I came across Frontpoint Security. After speaking at length with one of their sales persons, I decided to go ahead and purchase their equipment. They had really sold me on the fact that their equipment automatically alerts you via text when there is activity in the area and so I decided to deliberately decline their monitoring service. Because I paid in full for the equipment, I should've received no further bills from the company. Unfortunately though, the company has been charging my card every two months no matter what! I sought help with the company to refund the charges and to stop any future mistaken billing and they said that it had indeed been a mistake and that they were cancelling my account and refunding and not to worry. However, the next billing statement, there they were once again and nothing had been refunded nor had the billing stopped! I contacted my bank at this point who contacted them! The bank was able to reverse the charges. I was now hopeful that since I had canceled an account that had never been active for monitoring anyway with the company itself and bc the bamk had reversed the charges, that this would all be behind me.
Approximately 4 months later, I opened my bank statement only to find that they had put all the charges that the bank had made them remove, back on again in addition to new charges for current monitoring! Frontpoint had lied to the bank and insisted that they had never spoken to me about cancelling (when I had never had a monitoring account to begin with!) my account and all charges, they told the bank, were valid! They've been charging me ever since! I called again today to try and sort this out and was told THIS TIME that my account (that I never had in the first place) could not be cancelled bc they had not received their monitoring equipment back!---Which I had paid for IN FULL at the beginning of my relationship with them as previously stated! I have the bank card statements to prove it! The person on the phone, who identified himself solely as , said I needed to hold while he attempted to locate a supervisor with whom I could speak to clarify the details of why they were going to steal the money from my account. After waiting patiently for over 15 minutes, he returned to the line stating that he would have to leave a message for the supervisor to call me back.
I am holding out little hope that anyone will ever call me back. I reminded him that I had never had the monitoring and thus should have never been charged as well as the fact that I had paid for the equipment up front in full and therefore it was mine to keep and that sending it back was unnecessary! His response was that "this was policy" and that it was all "in our contract." At this point my wife grabbed the phone and not only reinformed him that we had never had any such contract bc we had never had any monitoring but also then demanded that if this was all policy that he define to her precisely said policy. Basically, read me that policy. He refused to do so. He became irate and now said that he was now "cancelling" our account ---which he had originally in the conversation insisted that he could not do due to "policy." I guess though when he gets angry or frustrated enough, he is allowed to change "policy"?? Also, getting him to "cancel the account" was all we'd been trying to do in the first place! So you're not insulting us in any way with that threat buddy! Thank you! However I do fear that we are probably not cancelled just like we have never been and that just like all the other calls we made to the office, they will say they have no record of! I will be contacting my bank again tomorrow morning in order to relay all of this info to them as well as request that they change all of my account numbers in hopes that there is NO way they can illegally bill me anymore! I doubt any so-called manager will ever contact me. I'm sure that I will most likely need to seek the return of my funds through legal channels before this is all said and done. It's very disturbing to think that people are out there who don't care to do an honest day's work to support themselves but rather who pay for their South Beach partying by stealing from the bank accounts of honest law abiding citizens throughout this country! If anyone here has had similar experiences with this con artist of a company & who want to band together to file a class action please do contact me! I would luv to chat bc people like this need to be stopped! Isn't it ironic that they claim to be a home security company and yet they are the ones doing the robbing?!
I urge all people who are seeking a home security company to look elsewhere! You will never get anything from these scum bags other than piles and piles of Fraudulent Bills for services never asked for and never rendered! The best way to protect against people like this is to never let them get ahold of your info in the first place! If they don't have your credit card info, then they cannot charge you! On 12/03/18 Frontpoint charged me for (3) three monthly monitoring charges, instead of (1) one.
On 08/19/19 Frontpoint attempted to frauduently charge my credit card, for an unauthorized and non requested, early termination fee.
On 11/04/19 Frontpoint charged my checking account without my authorization, for a monthly monitoring fee, on a cancelled contract. I have numerous emails to confirm that ALL of the requirements from Frontpoint were met by me, in a timely manner, to cancel my monthly monitoring contract with them.
I had no option except to spend my own money, to put a stop payment order of protection, on my banking information, to prevent Frontpoint from stealing any further funds from my account. I even received an additional text from Frontpoint on 11/07/19, asking for another additional unauthorized payment, for this same cancelled contract!!
So I just received my home security equipment was excited for this new company for me to try out. So there was normal control panel i received troubleshoot it with the technician he did well.
But what they won't tell is that the "new equipment" you get is actually Refurbished how i know that you wonder is that my best friend used to work there as a Manager with the customer care team. So this does not look very well for the company.
