Oven glass spontaneously exploded I bought this range approximately three years ago. We take excellent care of our appliances and since there is only the two of us, we do not use the oven as much as a family would. On 6/13/21 I was baking a pizza at 375 degrees in the oven. I had just looked into the oven through the glass to check on the pizza. I turned away and went to the sink when I heard an explosion and felt something hit me in the legs. I looked and the outside tempered glass of the oven door had exploded and shattered.
There were not any previous damage, cracks, dings, or strikes on the glass prior to this occurrence. Glass went all over our cat, who was app. Two feet from the oven eating her dinner. She was not injured but did have glass all in her fur. We found glass as far as 8 ft away. I called Frigidaire customer service first thing this morning and was told that there weren’t any previous complaints on this type of occurrence nor were there any recalls so the best she could do was give me a discount on the replacement glass and send a tech out to install it at my expense.
I asked to speak to a manager at this point and was eventually sent to a problem resolution specialist who basically told me the same thing. It was obvious they were following a script, and were only there to deflect any sort of complaint and simply offer the bare minimum. In fact when I told them that it was lucky that no one had their face near the glass and that there would have been a totally different conversation of myself or one of my family members such as my granddaughter had the glass explode in their face resulting in permanent injury the problem resolution person agrees that then the liability department would have handled it and since this was a hypothetical situation (even though I had just had my face in front of the glass no more than three minutes prior to the explosion of glass) there was nothing else they could offer.
I told her that it was unreasonable and poor service on the part of Frigidaire to not offer at minimum the replacement part and installation for free due to the circumstances. This situation is not like an electrical issue, or an element going out. This was obviously a flaw in the glass that finally gave out. She said flaws would show up in one to two years of service. I said that might be for someone who used their oven much more than we do. I am absolutely disappointed, not in the ladies I spoke to as they are only doing their job, but in the overall response to this situation. I have purchased Frigidaire appliances in the past and will no longer purchase any nor will I recommend them.
I asked the last lady in problem resolution for her manager and she said they weren’t available and would call me in one or two business days. This is also totally unacceptable. I am beyond disappointed and frustrated. Something that could have been resolved easily by sending glass free of charge and installing free of charge that would have made for a happy lifetime customer who would spread the word to other potential customers instead created a frustrated, unhappy customer who will never buy another Frigidaire or Electrolux product
As a recent owner of the Frigidaire 30" Front Control Electric Range with Air Fry. Being a Professional Culinary Chef and doing much research we decided to purchase this range for our cottage, having MSP of 2100.00 and a 5-star rating on Lowes, it seemed like a great idea.
We are disappointed in our purchase. I would NOT recommend this range and would give it less than 1 star if possible. It takes 12 minutes to reach 375 degrees and is extremely noisy on convection. Baked items do not cook evenly.
When cleaning the range top it creaks and sounds like the glass top is breaking. We feel like it’s only matter of time before it cracks. Also, the back was dented. Another reason for making this purchase was the air fryer setting.
Looking at the video on the Lowes website the range is shown using the air fryer setting (this was a major selling point) with a special large tray for this purpose. But what Frigidaire doesn’t tell you is that, you will not receive that pan, nor the usual boiler pan that other manufacturers provide. Upon reading the manual is when you find that you must purchase the pan separately. In fact you can’t even purchase this pan anywhere else but from Frigidaire for $50.00.
Frigidaire shows the special pan in their demonstration and their countless television ads, but alas, not even a discount coupon for future purchase of the pan. Wake up Frigidaire, this was a major selling point for your average range product. Just another major disappointment with the range and Frigidaire.
One cannot fathom how they can charge 1799.00 and not even include the equipment for the major selling point on said range.
When I contact Frigidaire, I was met by condescending customer service person, I asked to be upgraded to a manager and was offered a $25.00 gift card for our trouble but no solution for the issues with the product.
Frigidaire proves that corporate greed is what drives them with a side of a mediocre product at $2100.00. Your greed for a pan than your company can get for far less than $50.00 will cost you loyal customers that will never purchase a Frigidaire product again.
Purchased Frigidaire large refridge in year 2012. Ran it until year July 2016 whereupon it blew freon and stopped making ice and comfort refridge temps. Called 800number and on their recording selected repairman help. One mechanic given locally. Called that mech who came out and confirmed my diagnosis, blown refer, freon escape.
He charged me 85.00 and advised that they cannot touch a blown freon condition. Furthermore,he doesn't honor warrantee programs, strickly cash or check. What?! I got this mech thru frigidaire corp. Oh well, I don't have warranty program anymore (expired). I wrote email to customer service. They instructed me to call in mechanic and to have a good day. I wrote back that I tried mech that was given to me thru the 800 number and the rest is now history.
Customer no service could really care less. Have a good day they said. No back up care from them I guess. It taught me to not buy into frigidaire again, ever, and I bet even my communications never made it to the CEO in charge of customer service. If they won't stand behind their products and give good sound advice and a caring attitude, I'd never would of considered purchasing what I thought might be a good product that would last longer than 4 years..wouldn't you?
Case Description: Warranty on my dishwasher and refrigerator I had nothing but problems from the start on my dishwasher and refrigerator. The Frigidaire Gallery series appliances that I got a set including range and microwave as well. However, the refrigerator and the dishwasher had multiple service calls, and upon my last visit the employee who serviced stated that if he had to come back that one visit would cost as much as the warranty paid for one time. So I contacted Frigidaire and paid over the phone for a warranty. Well low and behold I have another issue and go figure. But the worst of it was to find out they said I only purchased a warranty for the refrigerator, which is severely incorrect. I was told while purchasing it that it was for two. This needed to be fixed as I need a warranty for the junk I have in my home. Sad to say when I paid over 4000 dollars for junk. I would of not thought twice in wanting a warranty, I guess a fast one was pulled on me and that is why I am here. I have sent a BBB complaint which was closed as satisfied, I havent been satisfied since I bought this junk, beware they will not help you.
