They offered a money back guarantee for a Loan Mod, told us their reputation with Chase Bank was golden and to stop making our mortgage payments for four months to pay Friedman Law instead. Towards the end of 4 months, instead of a mod or a refund (as promised by Donald Berman at Friedman Law a*s BEFORE we paid them), they wanted MORE money to continue. In 2011 we contacted Friedman Law Associates, P.C. who at that time were in Syosset New York. Our contact was with several people, but mostly with Donald Berman who informed us that they had wonderful raelationship with Chase Bank and that their frim would gurantee that they would have our loan mod approved within four months. Berman went on to explain that they set up their business to take four consecutive payments of $725.00 from their clients whom they inform, not to make their mortgage payments during that four month time period, due to the fact that one of the qualifications to be approved for the mod is to become two or more payments behind and, that it frees up the funds needed to pay for their services of $2,900.00
This firm made it sound all good at the time, until three months goes by and no modification. At the end of the 4th months, we requested a refund, but instead, this firm demanded even more money or they would refuse to continue. Because of the missed payerments Friendman Law advised us to miss, Chase Bank refused to accept any further payments and we were told to wait on their legal team, which did not contact us for 10 more months with bogus legal fees, not just the missed payments and interest. So, thanks to Friedman Law Associates and Donald Berman, we had to hire a "real law frim" which ended up costing us over $35,000.00 in legal fees and over $150,000 in lost equity due to foreclosure.
The worst part of this cause and affect situation, is the fact that our youngest son, who's panic and axiety was made worse from this situation, ended up in a situation that caused him to be killed. And our sick and disabled daughter, who's had severe chronic pancreatitis, is having to move out of her home with her young son. This law firm is very very sick and should pay heartily for their dishonesty against homeowners who trusted them.
