Purchased a Foodsaver sealer on 9/12. Used promo codes to get the FM2000 model for a great deal. Received confirmation with charge authorized on Wednesday morning. On Wednesday, I purchased from another retailer supplies for my new Foodsaver that was coming. Statused order on Thursday and saw that order was "Cancelled". Not knowing why, I messaged company through their website. No reply as of Monday evening, so called them. Spoke to one representative and she looked up my order number. Was told that my order was cancelled due to them being oversold. I stated that the item is still on their website.
Rep then changed story and stated that the promotion they were offering sold more than they thought would sell and as a result oversold that promotion. I asked why did the order get processed, then, why was I charged, and why did I never receive any notice of the cancellation. She had no answer except that she could sell me the same item that I purchased the week prior for over 3x the cost of what I paid. I said that was not acceptable and a form of bait and switch, which is seemingly illegal. I then asked to speak to a manger. I spoke to a very nice woman that explained the same situation, that their promo sold more than they expected.
I stated your website should cut off the promo when limits reached. She agreed. Also an email explaining should be sent, as well, and not a sale confirmation email. This is the level of customer service that one should expect, especially when a company errs. I was told she would escalate my concerns, but did not know if, or when I would be contacted. That to me is the epitome of poor customer service. So my advice is beware of Foodsaver.com promotions and selling practices, as it seems that I am not the first one to experience this. Now I have no Foodsaver, and supplies coming. If I want to spend over triple what I originally spent, I could have one. No thanks Foodsaver. I will take my business elsewhere.
