Fluent Home, LLC. Reviews

FLUENT is the most dishonest, rude, corrupt business I have ever associated with. DO NOT SIGN A CONTRACT WITH THEM WHATSOEVER; they are very deceiving and manipulative.

Had a home security system in place. Connie wanted to switch to Fluent; they sent a technician out, and he told my mom the equipment already in use IS compatible with their system. (Took advantage of an 86 year old lady).

This was supposed to be a free installation; there was no charge in switching over and using their approved materials.

A year and a half later, my mom had to switch out batteries. All hell broke loose. The second repairman said he could not fix it because it was not one of their products, not insured under them. The system would not work correctly, problem after problem, it takes 1 to 2 hours to get anyone on the phone. Finally, my mom talked with Natasha from headquarters in Lehi, Utah. This woman was the most disrespectful, power-hungry, horrible representative. She does not give a dang about the customers nor sought a resolution with respect and sympathy.

She even had the gall to put a note on my mom's account that no one else would service her without talking with her first. She would not let my mom talk to anyone else. She was seething on the phone with my mom. "You can't go to anyone else but me." So, this woman was out for revenge; my mom called her out and made sure she was targeted and could not speak to anyone else (she heard a rep talking about the note).

Natasha told my mom the technician knows nothing and idiots, and they shouldn't say anything; this is an admittance of their responsibility for lack of correct information. My mom asked why he did not tell me it was not compatible, "Natashia's reply, "He doesn't have to tell you anything about that; he is just there doing his job." I ask where the money was supposed to be invested in my mom's free security system they did not install but deceived into thinking it was compatible. hummmmmm that is so obvious, deceit.

Natasha doesn't follow the rules, but she expected my mom to follow the contract rules, over rides scamming a customer. OH, the best response from another rep, Eric "The rules are they to rip out the old materials and replace with their equipement" and "We give you the parts but you have to pay the technichan." FOR WHAT, a job they should have done correctly, to begin with, own up to their little deceiving dishonest claim. Please take my word for this, RUN!!

My mom was told during the sales of the contract that services would continue with her when she moved and she asked if there were more fees involved with that at the time of the move multiple times before signing any contracts. She also asked if the current equipment would stay at the current address when she moved and was told yes.

Once she had sold her house and was preparing to move, when we called to set up the new install she thought was included we were told she would need to pay for all new equipment, and then they could transfer the service. To get to someone it took me over two hours of waiting on hold and then once I was transferred to the cancellation department I was sent to a machine and told someone would call me back. After an hour I put in another call to customer service to just try and cancel the service.

The customer service is dismissive and rude and the door-to-door salespeople will say whatever necessary to make the sale.

Do Not Use this company

This is a terrible company. Very very deceptive business practices. DO NOT get roped into a contract with them or you will never get out of it. We signed a 36 month contract with them on September 7, 2018. Then over the course of the next year they sent a contract to me and said that I had not signed everything properly. When I read the fine print, it was an updated contract that would have locked us into and ADDITIONAL 5 years! They tried this twice.

When I called them out on this, the customer service guy was so ugly to me. Then we were told that to cancel the contract we would have to pay a portion of the contract that was left. A "portion". Not the full amount but a portion. We opted to wait until we were in our last year of our contract and when I called today to cancel and pay the "portion" that they had previously stated that I needed to pay, they informed me that I had taken an "installation phone survey" and in that survey had agreed to a 42 month contract. That never happened. Somehow, they are not able to retrieve my original contract OR the recording of the phone survey. SCAM SCAM SCAM.

I have never dealt with a company that has so many different stories, shady actions and deceptive business practices. BEWARE OF FLUENT! I am now in the process of filing a formal complaint with the State of Texas Attorney General's office. I am done playing their games. How many other people have they done this to? How many more will fall for their lies? Please don't be one of them. What a headache this has been.

Tyrel James, Fluent badge ID #: TJ467939, solicited our mother while selling Fluent Alarm monitoring services (Fluent Home LLC) door-to-door. He flat out lied to her about the terms of the contract she was signing and locked her into a 5 year contract, without her thorough understanding of the agreement she was signing because she barely understands English, and NO ONE at Fluent offered an interpreter despite the fact that it's obvious (because of her heavy accent and mispronounced words) that she doesn't speak English as her primary language.

Our mother is 77 years old, partially deaf, partially blind, and English is her second language. The slimy sales rep (Tyrel James) was so focused on his commission check that he and the Fluent Home office rushed through the whole process to get her to sign the contract without her understanding anything. She thought she was signing a 16 month agreement because they intentionally said "60 months" when selling her, instead of just saying the term was for 5 years! We have had to call them 4 times about this issue, and each time they continue to assert that they will not cancel the fraudulent sale of their contract to her without proof she's not going to a full care nursing home!

She now has to move to a senior housing community out of state, and these jerk-offs are trying to force her to pay the remaining 39 months of her contract even though she has no choice but to move because of her physical condition.

We are filing formal complaints of Elder Abuse, Unfair and Deceptive Trade Practices, and Defrauding an elderly person with the State Attorney General of Washington, Federal Trade Commission (FTC), and the Better Business Bureau. We are also going to be sharing this with thousands of friends and colleagues online via Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter.

Taking advantage of a 77 year old woman who is partially deaf and blind is a very foolish thing to do in this day and age! What a bunch of GREEDY MORONS!
