I tried to book a house in Belize thru Flipkey. The owner of the house told me one price; then Flipkey added 30% to the price. After taking my credit card and charging over $1200, Flipkey notified me that they had added another $300 for 2 additional quests though my correspondence had been clear about the number of guests. They wanted me to accept this change on line before they would reserve the house after already taking my deposit of $1200. They then changed the time of payment of the balance advancing it by over one month. I refused to agree to this change since it was the second time they upped the price on me. I asked for my money backed and booked a different house. Even the owner of the house admitted I was entitled to a full refund. After a month of no response to my requests for refund they now contend that I never cancelled. In actuality I was never in contract since they continued to change the terms. Nonethe less I wrote again that I would not be taking the house and asking for my money back. No response from Flipkey except a form they wanted me to accept agreeing to pay a rebooking fee which they refused to disclose. It is still a month prior to beginning of the vacation and they continue to jerk me around. Fraudulent is the term that comes to mind. Buyer beware. Do not use flipkey!
