My husband is in the nat'l corvette restorers society and has been collecting restored mid-sixties corvettes for 25 years. He was looking for a nice 1967 with the desirable 427 cubic inch engine and found one on fleming's.com. On their website, the car was advertised as an "original 1967 corvette 427" model and there were photos and even a promotional video that shows closeups of the unique 427 hood. Cool! as the hood is opened, the camera zooms in several times to focus on the chrome air cleaner on top of the engine that clearly indicates that the engine is 427 cubic inches and puts out 390 horsepower. Very impressive, right? Wrong!!! after we took off a half-day of work and drove 2 hours to see the car in person, my husband discovered that the engine code stamping revealed the engine to be a lower horsepower and much less desirable low-horsepower 396 cubic inches from a chevy station wagon or pickup that has no business being in a corvette!!! fraud!!!
Not only that, the car did not have "optional power steering" as advertised. It was not "matching numbers" as advertised. It did not have an "8k tach" as advertised such a tach never existed in a corvette back then). It did not have "redline radials" as advertised. Conveniently, neither owner tony fleming, or is it phlegming?) nor gm were on the premises that day, so my husband sent a complaint letter to the company which was ignored because those lies about that car continued on their website until some less informed "sucker" came along. Shame on you, flemings!! the only conclusion that can be drawn is that your misrepresentation is intentional. Don't believe the bogus positive reviews posted on yelp and google--a former flemings "sales enthusiast" confessed that are made up. Instead, read all the complaints about flemings, here on outscam.com and the better business bureau bbb.Org) to see that lying, deceiving, and misrepresenting cars is their business model. Caveat emptor/buyer beware!
