Fishtown Montessori School Reviews
As a parent of a young child I am greatly concerned about why this so called school has opened up. Originally I thought my child could/would attend. Basically after I did some research I found out that the owner is not from Philadelphia. She has absolutely no knowledge of Montessori schools. Basically, she is looking to make a quick buck. Here is the vast and disgusting part., oh., there is a school running out of a former funeral home. None of the children who attend are of any other nationality except those who are all Caucasian. Why? Oh, Fishtown is full of newcomers who think it is HOT to live in an all white area. Well, OK, that is great except when the owner discriminates against children from other races. The first red flag about this business is that there is no phone number or email address. I was contacted by a high strung woman who bashes my questions stating, "I have been a teacher for many years, I have a toddler, I have been certified as a principal by the state of Pennsylvania!" I completely support small businesses with Philadelphia and anywhere in the US. This woman who owns Fishtown Montessori should be completely ashamed with her actions and repoire with me. She is immensely rude, obnoxious, argumentative, and totally ignorant. I don't think this business owner knows how to run a school. She is betting that white parents will pay big dollars for a private education. May I ask? Why is the owner very rarely on site? Why doesn't the owner have a degree in Early Childhood Education? Ask her! When I asked her she screeched at me and told me she didn't have time to waste. There are many small businesses that truly go out of their way. Any and every small business in Fishtown and Philadelphia has been incredibly helpful and kind. Fishtown Montessori disgusts me and truly lives up to the title. "Suburban girls looking to get rich." My question is, Why haven't you opened a Montessori School in Port Richmond or Olney?
