I ordered a Terez fishing pole from the seller.... The pole arrived as promised, packing was 2 smaller boxes taped together to make a large enough box for the pole. The package was not damaged in shipping, once I inspected the fishing pole it had 4 good sized scratches/cracks in the backbone of the pole. I contacted the seller, he offered 2 options, 1) send the pole back to Shimano (this was not a valid option for a new pole IMO). 2) Return the pole for a refund.
I picked option 2 and the seller forwarded me a return label, shipped the pole back and a few days later get a credit notification that I had received a credit for the pole. When I looked at the credit it was nearly $25 short of the price I paid for the pole. I had to contact the seller to find out he decided to charge me shipping on the pole. His explanation was that there was nothing wrong with the pole and he decided to charge me shipping... To add insult to injury the seller proceded to call me a liar.
I'm 58 years old and have lots of hobbies, I've ordered mail order items for at least 40 years and have never been charged shipping on a return of a defective item. The Terez is $200 plus worth of fishing pole and NO-ONE will accept one damaged unless they were blind. The total of my order was 245.60 and the refund as $221.
