In June 2015 I ordered a replica of a bass I caught in Florida and sent in a 50% deposit per contract. Images of the work and description on inter-net were very nice. I was notified by Fish Scale Taxidermy on 9/5/15 that fish was ready including a photo they sent. (Photo looked great but a year and half later a photo is all I have.) I was surprised at the speed and was told it was because they happened to have a blank in stock and did not have to order one. I paid remainder over the phone with a credit card and was told I would be sent a shipping number as soon as the shipper gave them one. We have texted back and forth 34 times since then and emailed several more.
Shipper problems, can you send a photo so we know which is yours, (I sent it twice), health issues, etc. A year and a half since they notified me bass was ready and still no fish. Now, they no longer reply to contact attempts. I did file a complaint with the Texas Attorney General for whatever that is worth. I am beginning to wonder if they ever did taxidermy or just found some nice photos, created a web site and lured us in. I should take this to small claims court on principal but the time off work and effort required make that a situation that you lose even when you win. I just want my fish or my money. As the owner put it as a rebuttal to another complaint, I can get one of lesser quality, but at least I will have one. I wish I had seen reports here before I ordered my replica. It might have saved a lot of grief.
