Fischer Panda refused to repair my generator. They stated that my Panda 8 generator that was less than 3 years old was under water. This is 100 percent a false claim. My Panda 8 generator with less than 300 hours was shutting down on low voltage with or without a load.
I called Panda and alan recommended Beacon marine. After 5 attempts Beacon marine said that I needed to pull the generator and send it back to Panda. He said it would cost around $5,000 and take 2-3 months. I asked what was wrong with it, he said I would have to pull it to find out. Of coarse I called Alan back at Panda and asked for another authorized person to tell me what was actually wrong with the generator.
He recommended Kevin McGary out of Bradenton. I told Alan at Panda I would pay for a factory guy to come tell me whats wrong and make the repair. We are both in Florida and they are only a few hours away.
Alan stated that they had no one to send and contrary to what beacon marine said they are not set up for repairs at their facility. After 3 weeks of no shows and no call backs the recommended Kevin McGary showed up and said the unit had been under water. Not true.
I have maintenance logs and data supporting that the generator had been running for 14 hours after my first call to Panda. I have also talked to another Panda 8 owner built around the same time as mine with the same issue. Low voltage cut out.
So now my generator sits out of the boat with 2 authorized service centers saying they can not fix it and Panda sayiny they will not. If you read the reviews on google and Facebook you will find similiar stories where Panda blames the customer for defects.
As a consumer my generator was never under water and I did all maintenance before due and I only used factory authorized service people. This seems to mean nothing to Panda.
