First California Mortgage Reviews
I spoke with Anita at FirstCal a few months ago. She sounded nice but really had no knowledge of the business. I kept being put on hold or called back over questions she should know the answer to. I have spoken with other lenders and the very basic questions seemed to trip her up. I assume she is new at this job or relies on a manager to actually get things done. After her advising she could help she ultimately did not. Not because of our credit or out home value. She forgot to lock the loan on the promised rate, which was much higher than Bank of America was offering anyway.
Then she said we could transfer the appraisal of things didn't work out. That was completely untrue. After telling her plenty of times we had an investment property she said not to worry. She did not inform the underwriter and we had to send in a lot of paperwork last minute, only to find out she had a loan for us we were not qualified for. Then she tried to switch the loan and said it was her boss that made her do it. I'm in real estate and she was way off on the whole thing. I should have worked with her boss or someone else who knew what they were doing. I'm shocked FirstCal lets her consult on mortgages.
This was a wild ride and I closed with another lender in 3 weeks after dealing with an incompatant Anita for 3 months If you want a good deal and someone who knows what to do use the other online resources and let them seek out the best deal. I also noticed Anita started with the company a year ago and there is no other licensed history with her. So I can only verify she started about a year ago and relies on the work of others to try and scan her clients. Stay far away from her and thus company. FYI she also spoke with my husband as if they were dating. Calling him honey and sweetie.
Highly inappropriate given the half million she was suppose to manage for us. Unprofessional is the least bad verbiage I can use. Anita if you read this go back to what you did before because you are horrible at this. Not personal but you ruined our mortgage and made my husband uncomfortable. You must be single to flirt that hard just to get a big commission. And yes you do get commission on out loan. I know that. Dodd-Frank outlined all of them it and how loan officers get paid. You are a voice on a phone who knows nothing about what you do. Good riddance to you and your scam managers.
