I deposited $3200 on Dec. 13,2023 into my 5/3 Bank account from my other bank account. The check cleared on Dec. 14 but they froze my account for 39 days. My name & address are on both accounts but they said it was fraud. I talked to individuals on a daily basis and they assured me that my funds will be available soon. Well I told them the funds were for my mortgage , but they did not care. I am about to lose my house because of their incompetence. Hopefully I can find a good attorney and sue the hell out of them
I received an offer from 5/3 for a balance transfer to my 5/3 credit card. The offer included a 0% interest rate for 18 months. It expired Sept 30. On Sept 28, I paid my 5/3 credit card balance in total so I would be starting with a 0 balance when I did the new transfer. On Sept 30, I spoke with a representative by telephone to complete the balance transfer using the promotion. On Oct 21, an interest charge posted to my account on the balance. Today I called to speak with a representative. She said she spoke with her supervisor who said that the promotion expired on Sept 30 so I would have had to transfer on Sept 29. I said that is not my understanding of how expiration dates work. And why would it expire on not the last day of the month? So I asked to speak to someone else. I then spoke with a supervisor who submitted a dispute for me. So now I have to wait for them to review it and get back to me.
My account was frozen for over a week after false charges were made to my account. This has happened before. Last time I asked what happened and was not given an explanation. I view this as covering up for the perpetrators.
As of now, nobody can explain what has happened and my direct deposit is in jeopardy in three day's time. This fraud is a well known scam that has happened to others, but the suspicion seems to be in me.
5/3 bank (who is definitely NOT making banking a 5/3 better) failed to communicate that my mortgage payment amount had changed as a result of an escrow adjustment they made and when I continued to make the old payments rather than credit them as partial payments or communicate with me that the payment had changed the bank's personnel (Lindsay and Maria) report that the money was held and then sent back t me in the form of 3 checks. I have not received of cashed any checks from Fifth Third bank and notified them of this and so given that they have neither credited any part of the monies I have paid nor returned them as they stated it is my position that they fraudulently retained my money without crediting the payments to my account.
To add insult to injury I only found out about this when a reliable bank with whom I do regular business notified me of the change on my credit report as a result of 5/3 bank's blaming me for their own errors
They are a nightmare to deal with. I have been locked out of the online portal where you make payments, repeatedly been given inaccurate information about even the process of making payments and the bank simply acts as though I am supposed to know which of their employees to belive and when to beleive them
Do yourself a favor pick another bank. Based on my experience ANY other bank
I have been a Fifth Third customer for over 20 years. Paying monthly fees as an account holder. The pandemic has caused many discomforts to us all; however, the customer service and authority should have a little more compassion. Speaking specifically of Manager Ms. Gomez. Last month I was denied the right to withdraw money from my debit card Netspend/SSI. I was told by one of the employees that the machine was down. Ms. Gomez thereafter came to the phone and confirmed the employees statement.
Today I was told by Ms. Gomez that I would have to make an appointment. First of all, other Fifth Third branches have 1625 W. 18th St. Chicago Illinois 60608 as the bank to do business via drive thru/window. Ms. Gomez ask me what kinda card did I have. This entails discrimination. It should not matter what kinda card I have. Either you do the transaction or you don't . This is in violation of the ADA. Americans with disability act. This is also racial discrimination and racial profiling. Ms. Gomez felt adamant about her position and confident in what she was saying.
This is also a predominant Hispanic area. I will also request a reimbursement for the last to months for denied services. I will also complain via other sites and the corporate in this matter. finally, I told Ms. Gomez my intent. Giving her plenty opportunity to make it right. This is something she felt confident and content in doing. So lets see how it works for you Ms. Gomez.Thank you for reading. Have a great day.
Fifth Third Bank, Needmore Rd, Moraine, Ohio practiced Dual Tracking. They sent a representive to our home and told us to be behind on our mortgage so that we would qualify for the HARP mortgage modification program.
After we signed the paper, the next week we were sent foreclosure statement in the mail. We were not able to contact the rep at the bank, our phone calls were not taken. Fax numbers were given which did not work. We sentinformation via fax over and over.
This is Dual Tracking. Fifth Third Bank did perpretrate fraud on my family. I would like compensation from Fifth Third Bank. I would like to add my name to other Ohions who have had fraud committed on them.
I purchased my 2012 Nissan Sentra in May of 2015. I made my payments on time and was never behind at all. Then in May of 2017 I get a letter from Fifth Third Bank informing me that I did not have full coverage insurance on my car. So I thought all the time I did have full coverage. So I contacted my insurance company about this and they informed me that I only had liability. So I'm pissed at them for letting me think for 2 years that I did not have full coverage. So in the meantime I call Fifth Third Bank and ask them why did they wait 2 years to inform me and all I got was a bunch of bull. No one could tell me anything and they kept sending my calls to all these different people until I had to just hang up. So in the meantime I try to get more coverage from Progressive and what they wanted me to pay was way out of my price range so I try others. I got sidetracked because I got sick and my Mother got sick. So I got a payment book from the bank where they had added $133. to my car payment which was $225. Now they had never sent me any any information about this insurance they tagged onto my car payment. So I payed my car payment of $225. every month and the insurance I already had and not what they tagged onto my original car payment.
So on Dec 2. 2017 I go outside and my car is gone. I called the police and made a report not knowing fifth third bank had repossessed my car. I called the bank on that Monday abd they would not work anything out with me. So they had the ardaucity to sen me another payment book. I feel that for those two and a half years my car has been paid in full. This bank is no good and do not like working with you. I hope I can file a lawsuit against them. I am on disability and they have handicapped me so bad. If there are any more people that this bank has done the same thing to them, we need to band together and start a class action against them.
On 8-28-1998 I was attracted to a offer at Fifth Third Bank in Louisville, Ky. The Woodland branch at 291 N. Hubbards Lane with the agreement they would give me free checking for life with no stipulations at all. Totally free. free checks, no minimum, just free checking with out monthly service charges. After years of receiving their offer / agreement / contract they finally told me they were doing away with the free checking and I was then having to pay with a different program they came up with. I fell they reneged on a promise they baited and swithed and feel they betrayed me and others that lost that deal. I was told by Fifth Third Bank that a banking regulatory said they couldn't give totally free for life and therefore I had to pay. I feel a contract was broken and they should honor their aggreement.
Fifth Third Bank offered me a balance transfer offer that included a "special" 3% balance transfer fee (many credit card companies offer 0% balance transfer fees) and 0%, 12 month APR. I was given checks to use to take advantage of the balance transfer offer. The checks expired May 25, 2017. I issued a check to another creditor to resolve a balance before the check expiration date. Fifth Third Bank claims the check was processed by the other creditor after May 25, 2017.
They did not offer me the balance transfer offer and ultimately charged me their standard 4% balance transfer fee ($180) and standard 19% interest charges on the balance transferred to my account, resulting in $257.99 in interest. I have a credit score of over 750 and could've paid off my entire balance at a slight inconvenience. I wouldn't have taken their offer if the marketing was clear and I knew they would make every attempt to postpone the processing of their balance transfer offer check.
My second car was repossessed on November 15, 2016. I make payments using the 5/3 Bank website. Apparently, two payments for two different months were not made, causing a late payment of a total of 63 days. Went on to the website, looked at the payment history, attempted to make payments on the months in question, but there is NO option to do so. Most other websites have this feature where either the next payment due inlcudes a past payment quantity, or some notification on the "make a payment" page that says "past due amount ...".
This is truly an amateur website that has cost me $1,843.00 plus storage fees for the amount of days until this is resolved. The wait time to even speak to the Repo department at this bank was long, as apparentyly MANY people had their cars repossessed that day.
FIX your website to inlude PAST DUE information on the payment page! Unless, of course, this is set up to make money on forgetful people.
I frequently would do cash deposits an the ATM since its was convenient for me. One day the machince shut down in the middle of my transaction . After about 10 min of waiting I went into the branch and they told me there was nothing they could do but if i call the dispure number they would see that the machine was over and put the deposit in my account. They credit my account that day and then a month later took the money back. I called then and they told me the machine wasn't off. I asked them if I would have been given to the preson who came after me and then told me it was impossible. They could see me on camera doing a transation and I know they could see in their system that I selected deposit after I entered my pin. After arguing with the Rep for 15 min ( he basically called me a liar) I asked for a supervisor who told me to reash out to the branch manger because they get daily ATM Reports to see if he had something different then what they had. Well, he did find that his report showed that the machine was off $40 instead of the $60 I deposited, which at this point I was will to let the $20 go. Well, it's been almost two weeks since they received the documentation from the branch manager and they still haven't put the money back in my account and everytime I call they have an attitude and tell em they have up to 14 days to resolve the matter (today is the 14 day).
If you are looking for a bank. Good service. Professional customer dialoge. Do not choose "Fifth Third Bank". I have been with this bank for over 15 years. Back when this bank was a "little guy". I recently had the worst experience you could possilby imagine, considering we had death in the family. On July 22, 2015 I deposited a $1,200 money order into the ATM branch bank on 53rd street in Hyde Park Chicago. The money order was valid and endorsed to me. (issued August 30, 2014). I was told by a fifth third rep 1-800 that my funds would be available the following day. On the following day there was no transaction noted in my online account. I thereafter called fifth third 1-800 and was told my money order had expired. Mind you ..the money order is good for 3 to 6 years and we are not at the 1 year point. This is also clearly printed on the money order. From July 22, 2015 til today August 26, 2015 Fifth Third Bank has illegally held my money. Refuse to cash my money order. And also refuse to return my money order. But has the nerve to charge me a monthly service charge for services I am not receiving. Deliberately misled me for 34 days and to top it off had reps who told me there was no documentation of my deposit. This conduct and process has been deliberate, stressful, and malicious. No business should have the right to do people this way. Finally, my blood pressure has went up, stress level is high and I am taking medication. I could not contribute anything to the family of my in laws. Funeral expenses are high. And they went through a lot of changes paying for this funeral. Because of this unprofessional conduct by Fifth Third Bank I am seeking legal recourse. The provocation, agitation, and enticing is obvious. Someone must be held accountable. This is where I begin. Avoid the stress and find you a bank who cares about his or her customer.
