Fife RV is either ignorant or blind to Consumer Protection Laws. During a sale they would ask you to pay for a PDI inspection of their vehicle - $5,000. If you refuse they will drop it down to $2,900. Question is what’s the difference between the 2 - nothing. Refuse to pay anything but tell them to do one but understanding if something is broken it will be fixed (NO AS IS DISCUSSED HERE). Law of liability says they have to guarantee safety and that the RV will work for it’s intended purpose. SAFETY ISSUE-service department said 1 of the multiplex mods 12 volt system was bad. If you could find parts they would be $500 each so they decided without approval to bypass and run new wiring. During the 3 months that they were retiring and doing the PDI another module went bad. This time they suggested they rewire that one too. We said sure - they’re the experts. NO THEY WEREN’T, they’re technician was NOT qualified to do such a job unbeknown to us. From purchase date of August 2016 to Feb 2018 we were able to use RV for 3 months until the the inverter went out in feb. FIFE RV says a mouse peeed on it burning it out. WAIT A MINUTE - liquid touching the inverter should have caused it to blow a fuse - not burning it up. Fix cost us $2,600 - but wait we have extended warranty-not covered per FIFE. We started wondering about the FIFE RV wiring work around. We would occasionally hear wires arching in the ceiling, the ceiling fantastic fan stopped working, rope lights in bathroom stopped working.
We found 2 intellitech mods that cost $200.00 each and asked FIFE RV if they could put our wiring back to factory install condition. They didn’t like idea of using our parts but they were brand new. They agreed and first estimate was for 4 hours. After their technician looked at the mess their old/fired technician had done the estimate went up to 20-30 hours. Little did we know what was involved but they did. Two months later technician was done - oh my the estimate was right on-30 hours imagine that. BUT WAIT - they charged us 2.6 hours ($260) to check out passenger arm chair switches. We asked if he had problems there finding the right wires, his response was no one asked him too look at it - he didn’t touch it. They were making this thing up as they were going.
RESULTS - after technician finished we had 1 light in the bedroom working and nothing else. Technician said he didn’t know where the water pump switch was or why nothing worked. So he couldn’t map the switches putting labels on them - oh well here’s your coach we did best we could. This is negligence pure and simple. It’s worst than before and they charged us $3,650.00 for making it worst.
NOT ACCEPTABLE - we contacted M&M in OHIO who make the lighting system and they said they could fix it if we could get RV there. FIFE RV agreed to pay to fix if we paid 1/2 cost for a driver ($2,500) to take it there. Thank goodness we found closer and cheaper place to take it - REV COMPANY in Coburg, Oregon. CLINT MOCK acted excited to hear it.
We drove rv to REV CO. - their estimate was 8-10 hours and 2 days in their shop (not 3 months). It took them 18 hours and cost $2,600. FIFE RV refused to pay anything more than 8 hours worth. REV said it took longer because they found bare powered wires arching in the ceiling. They had to track them down - see what they belonged to and connect them. They also had to totally undo what FIFE goofed up. Apparently FIFE only replaced 1 mod, the other one still needed replacing.
Back at FIFE RV - we asked to be reimbursed for the difference we paid FIFE VS COST FOR REV TO FIX IT RIGHT PLUS PRICE OF GAS. This came up tp $1,192. After being humiliated by Clint Mock during an hour conference, I also wanted an apology from him for calling me childish, deceiving us, hiding their negligence, costing us over $13,000 over and above our coaches original cost. He said you can’t blame us for what the old owners did to you, we are new ownership. I said BS, look at all complaint sites, you have customers complaining about the same issues under new as you did old owners. Both old and new owners are deceitful, condescending, descriminating against old folks because it’s too hard for us to fight BIG BAD WOLF BUSINESS.
I ALSO WONDER IF THEY GET KICKBACKS FROM BANKS. We paid $0 down on our purchase and paid more than it was worth. Only way the bank came out whole in this deal is FIFE RV added to our loan $1,200 and called it GAP INSURANCE. I think this covered the bank they had nothing to lose. They disclose they have the right to charge you part of the interest rate.
Once FIFE RV discovered this RV had HUGE issues they should NEVER HAVE SOLD IT.
FIFE RV should be required to live within the confines of CONSUMER PROTECTION LAWS. I BELIEVE THEY NEED TO TAKE CLASSES FOR SERVICE, BUSINESS, SALES AND OWNERS ON WHAT THE LAWS ARE. UNTIL THEN I’M ASKING TO BE MADE WELL FROM DEALING WITH THESE PEOPLE. AMOUNT PURCHASE PRICE $171k, $13,000 to fix problems that shouldn’t have existed. There’s another $25k they cheated us out on our trade-in. Total would be $208k. I won’t even ask Clint Mock for the apology he owes me.
I expect to continue letting everyone who will listen to stay away from them - maybe I can get reimbursed by causing them a huge loss until they change their practices.

PLEASE HELP TO MAKE SURE NO ONE ELSE CAN LOSE THEIR LIFE SAVINGS BY BEING FIFE RV’S SUCKER LIKE I WAS.
On Dec 3, 2015, my 2014 41' Evergreen Bayhill 385BH fifth wheel, which was purchased brand new from Fife RV Center (Fife, WA), was released back to the dealership. It had been impounded after the individual I had rented it to abandoned it. After paying to get the fifth wheel out of impound, Fife RV came and picked it up on 3 Dec 2015.
I had the dealership come pick it up to perform repairs as there was some minor damage from the previous tenant. Fife RV stated they wouldn't be able get to my fifth wheel as they were consolidating their inventory. They closed their location in Gig Harbor and were also relocating inventory from their Bonney Lake location. As I was living in Oregon at the time, I wasn't physically present when Fife RV came to pick up the fifth wheel from the impound lot.
I drove up a few months later, around May of 2016. However, they still had done nothing with the rig and didn't know when they would get to it as the list of ofther units to repair was long... according to Fife RV.
Life happened and I didn't check in. Fast forward to 14 Feb 2018 when I drove up to walk the lot and discovered my fifth wheel was no longer on the lot. They claim it had not been moved to another lot. Finally, I spoke with a sales manager who claims they attempted to contact me (if so, they didn't try very hard). After not reaching me, they claim they had it impounded.
As of today, there's no record of impound which is required to be reported. Pierce County Auditor state they have no record of any lien which takes place when there's an impound. Also, the credit union, whom I have it financed through, never received any notification that it was impounded. The dealership has failed to produce any record of my fifth wheel being impounded. And they won't return my calls.
On 2/19, I attempted to file a police report, but Fife PD state it's more likely a civil matter.
I am looking for an attorney that can issue a "letter of demand" to the dealership. When the dealership fails to produce any kind of credible documentation, a subpoena can be issued.
