Fidelity National Home Warranty Reviews

We had some appliances go dead this winter and needed them replaced. We called Fidelity National and filed a claim.

It took over a week for them to respond while our appliances were down. When they responded, they claimed that they have no service providers who would services those appliances in our area (in Nevada) and asked us to go look for our own.

First I had to do all the work to call and find someone who would work on those appliances and request forms and call back to Fidelity National to report process and request forms for each step of the way, taking many hours to talk to and get e-mails to links to forms that they claim they sent but we never receieved.

Eventually we did get a form mailed and I signed and e-mailed it back. Then they claimed they never receieved the form, so we resent it.

Repeat the above for several weeks.

The contractor did call Fidelity National and gave estimates on repairs and replacements. Fidelity National authorized replacement since repair costs would be too great. However the appliance is discontinued so the contractor had to look for a similar replacement.

The travel costs and labor was also several thousand, however Fidelity National supposedly authorized it. I was told by Fidelity National that I had to pay the contractor / service provider first up front (several thousand) and they would reimburse me.

However after paying the contracotor, I e-mailed fidelity National a copy of the receipt, several weeks past and I never receieved a check, I called Fidelity National and they claimed they never got the authorization form, or a invoice, or a receipt!!

I resent all of the above to several different e-mail addresses that the Fidelity National rep gave me, one after another which didn't work.

Eventually they claimed they received them.

Several more weeks pass and I didn't get a check, I called them and after a long wait of several hours, they claim they needed to authorize it.

Do this date, months later, I am out over $6000 and have not receieved any reimbursement from Fidelity National.

All they do is claim they never got a form, or a invoice, or a receipt. And ask you to resend, and they claim they never get it.

This company is a total scam.

Much like the others who have reviewed this company, I failed to do my research. After purchasing my home in April of this year, the power went out in one of our bathrooms sometime in the middle of the night (6 months later). At the time the power happened, nothing was turned on, plugged in and There was nothing using the power.

In the morning I attempted to flip the dedicated GFCI breaker at the electrical panel and it would not turn on, it was completely fried. I placed a service request and FNHW and they sent out one of their contracted “specialists” to take a look. This was an electrical vendor who has had a long relationship of working with FNHW company (conflict of interest).

It was clear that the the electrician had a pre-scripted response to the electrical issue, a “power overload” which he had said before he even opened up the panel to investigate, total scam. Despite the numerous publications and specific wording on their website that state they cover “electrical components and electrical wiring”, the warranty does not somehow cover power over loads?!

What world are we living in where this is acceptable and/or legal? I think a class action lawsuit is long overdue for this company and it should be organized. They charged me another $75 for this waste of my time staying home from work. It was also a waste of my time speaking with the three “customer service professionals” who should have no business working serving customers or working in role that requires them to interact with people; prisoners are spoken to with more respect.

All three “professionals” were rude, one laughed at the situation, and another hung up on me after I asked for a refund of my warranty. I will make sure anyone I l know is seeking advice on a new home warranty to stay WAY clear of this “service”.

Temperature 90 degree plus. Baby visiting. AC broke. Home insured by Fidelity Natinoal Home Warranty. Waited online for 45 mintues to get someone from Fidelity National Home Warranty to take my call and submit a service request. Baby getting overheated. I gave up waiting for them to answer my call and placed a call to a local HVAC company who responed immediatley and replaced my broken AC compressor. Now FNHW is denying my claim because I was unable to get anyone at FNHW on the phone to handle my claim so they could call a HVAC contractor of their choice. What a great strategy (NOT): Don't answer calls that might result in claims and when homeowners with policies give up an call their own contracter,s deny the claims saying that I should have waited indefinately for them to answer the phone. There are better home warranty companies out there.

I’m very disappointed with this process so far. Before the contract you’re so nice and available. Fidelity seems to be a good home warranty company but after my FIRST contact with customer service to try to solve an issue I’ve got really frustrated with the treatment and poor quality of service.

And the worst thing that you simply denied to fix something that is clearly covered by the contract. But you keeping insist that was a pre-existing damage. Well, the inspection report shown that the salt pool system was not tested but it’s doesn’t mean that were broken already. And I’m SURE that was up and running perfectly.

So, I’ll have to pay for that but one thing you have to be sure, next time I’ll not renew my contract with Fidelity and if someone ask me about a home warranty company I won’t hesitate to not recommend Fiddelity.
