Ferman Chrysler Jeep Dodge RAM Tampa Reviews

  • Mar 29, 2017

On February 4th, 2017 I entered the Ferman Chrysler Dodge Dealership meeting with Ken Gilliam, Internet Manager inquiring on the purchase of a 2013 Dodge Ram 3500 they had for sale on the used car lot. I proceeded to test drive the vehicle finding a check engine light on during this drive. There were two trouble codes one for an air bag and the other for a low line pressure for the transmission. Before any paperwork was to be completed and a loan processed, Ken Gilliam assured me all repairs would be completed before final purchase of their vehicle and the tradein of my 2012 Dodge Ram 1500. I have all these communications from February 4th on for this communication process. I was informed on February 4th by Ken that trouble code for the low transmission pressure was due to a bad sensor on the transmission.

Later that same day Ken sent me a text stating the sensor replacement didnt fix the trouble code on their Dodge Ram 3500 but the sensor was replaced by them. Per the computer logs of the vehicle on March 28th, the sensor was never replaced by Ferman, verified by Jim Brown Chrysler Dodge dealership on March 28th. The sensor was actually replaced a couple months before for the same concerns at a Chrysler Dodge dealership in Orlando Florida under an extended warranty. This was the first deceptive lie of fraud that Ferman expressed to me as a consumer. Ferman had to be aware of this replacement and Jim Brown Dodge pointed it out to me in 5 minutes. On February 11th, 2017 I was informed by Ken Gilliam, Ferman Dodge Chrysler that the 2013 Dodge Ram was fixed and ready for delivery. I proceeded to the dealership where I traded my 2012 Dodge Ram on the truck at Fermans taking delivery. I asked multiple times if everything was repaired and was assured it was, no check engine lights were on. Immediatly after I took delivery of the vehicle from Ferman I had problems with the transmission slipping, faulty shifting blowing transmission fluid out of the transmission tube. I immediatly contacted the Ferman dealership informing them of the issues with the vehicle they assured me was repaired but wasnt. Ken informed me I had the option to bring the truck back and get my old truck back since it was not sold, purchase another truck or they would give me a goodwill check of $1100 to fix the transmission. I took the truck for multiple opinions, one at AAMCO Transmission, Dayton Andrews Dodge, Courtsey Brandon Dodge, Jim Brown Chrysler Dodge and USA Transmissions. Everyone of these businesses confirmed the truck I purchased from Ferman had a defective transmission after they performed their diagnostics. The quote to fix and replace this transmission ranges from $4500 to $5000 and I supplied these quotes to Ferman where I bought the truck. I asked for my truck back from Ferman being informed they sold my truck when they told me I could have it back. Not wanting to buy another truck and get approved again, I asked them to fix it or buy the truck back. They wouldnt buy it back, and offered me $1100 goodwill to have it fixed somewhere else. They then offered me $1500 goodwill money only if I signed a release of all claims to them and have it repaired somewhere else, which I did. They offered to look at it again I dropped it off 2 weeks later nothing done. I delivered to Jim Brown today to have the transmission replaced for $5000. This is fraud, they didnt repair the vehicle before purchase and sold it to me knowing it was defective.

This is fraud, non disclosure and refusal to repair correctly. I purchased this vehicle with intent of a vehicle of operation that is reliable. This transmission that the dealership was aware to be defective sold the vehicle to me with no intent to repair. If they were not guilty of their actions then why wouldn't they repair the vehicle at no cost but instead offer me $1500 goodwill payment at the release of all claims toward them. They should pay for the full repair of this transmission in the amount of $5000 not $1500. I purchased the vehicle being informed it was fixed but instead Ferman just unloaded it and all the headaches on me. They need to pay for the transmission in the amount of $5000. I was deceived and had no intent of buying a defective vehicle in need of repair. They informed me it was repaired but was not.
