To Whom: On March 20, 2018, a tuesday, I, Donald J. Fleming, entered the Feldman Chevrolet dealership locate on 42355 Grand River ave. novi, michigan, and brought with me two advertisements. A GMC ad stating that an SUV could be obtained for $149 per month and zero $ down. The second ad was from a Buick dealership stating the same terms but that the zero down was guaranteed. I was introduced to a sales representative entitled Robert (bobby) Kerbaum and he told me that the ads were somewhat of an enticement, or words to that same effect, and he elaborated that there are costs that must be paid in order for a transaction to be agreed upon.
The sales rep. inquired as to what I wanted on a vehicle regarding features and I instantly replied that I must have cruise control since all other important features would probably be either on or available, such as power brakes, power steering and other, normally standard features. I also informed him that I only wanted a comfortable vehicle that would get me from point A to point B since I was not interested in most, if not all, of the 'bells and whistles. I did want a quiet, roadable vehicle.
We, Robert and I exited the dealership and entered a Chevy Trax. After discussing the vehicle in some detail, I asked where the cruise control was located and he kept saying that it is on the steering wheel: He never showed me where on or how it operated and at no time ever, did he show me where, on the steering wheel the cruise control was: There were some controls on the right side of the steering wheel that I was not familiar with so I was left unanswered.
We/I test drove the vehicle locally and again I inquired where was the cruise control and I received the same reply, on the steering wheel. When we returned to the dealership I again asked and received the same answer, on the steering wheel. Why he would not put forth minimal effort and show me where the system was located, caused my ability to utilize common sense, logic and reason to be drastically challenged since I could only make the determination that he just took for granted that the system was on the vehicle.
Why I then agreed to sign the lease when neither the monthly payment or the down payment was acceptable when I came to that dealership with ads that showed much, much less required except that I became frustrated with the poor performance of the dealership.
I drove the vehicle, the next day, to Brighton, michigan, and could not determine where the cruise control was. I returned to the feldman chevy dealership and asked the sales rep to show me where the cruise control was and he, after the examination, showed and demonstrated, speechwise, that he was shocked that there was no cruise control on the vehicle.
The next day the rep called me to say that the dealership would install the cruise control at my expense. I refused stating that I signed a contract, lease, believing that the vehicle had cruise control. Later that week, I, again, was called to state that the dealership would install the cruise control having the dealership pay $100.00 if I would pay the balance of some hundreds of dollars, I again refused.
I called the General Manager, George Hawes, on the following friday morning, and before I could say a word he insisted that I should attend a meeting with him and the rep. Since Mr Kerbaum insists that he never told me, Donald Fleming, that the vehicle had cruise control. That comment insulted my integrity since Mr Hawes was not ever present when all of the negotiations were being conducted, while I was the innocent victim having been repeatedly told that the cruise control was on the steering wheel. In fact I was being called a prevaricator while the rep. was being held as truthful.
Overall, it stands as a disgusting insult to me and I am presently operating a defaulted and breached contract vehicle that is not roadable, is very road noisy and does not provide good gas mileage and I have been practically called a prevaricator. I do not want the vehicle and would rather have one that provides what I originally requested.
The aforementioned asservation is true and honest to the best of my knowledge!
