Fast Pace Health Reviews

So this occurred approximately at between 2:15 and 3:00 PM on Monday 12-14-20:

My complaint is that they charged my debit card $75 but services were not rendered. Furthermore, judging from the doctor’s demeanor in the exam room, I believe that he knew from the beginning that he would not provide me with the services that I had requested. Essentially, I was defrauded.

I wanted a COVID test because I’ve had contact with a couple of co-workers and one family member (from a separate household) who’ve tested positive for COVID. I am also taking care of my elderly and asthmatic mother and I work full time and come into contact with dozens of people every day.

So after I was called to the examination room, the attending physician said he needed a list of all my current prescription medications and how many milligrams they were. But before I could provide that information he asked if I was allergic to anything.

I said there was a blood pressure medication I used to take that caused an allergic reaction but it was years ago and I didn’t recall the name. He said he needed to know the name of the medication or I couldn’t get the test. Followed by, “Besides your insurance won’t pay for this anyway because you don’t have any symptoms.” I said “Fine, I’ll pay for it out of pocket.” But for some reason he didn’t seem satisfied with that, in fact he appeared slightly annoyed.

As a matter of fact, he seemed a little desperate, saying that he needed quite a lot of detailed info from me as he pointed to his laptop and shook his head. It sounded like he was trying to discourage me into just giving up. To be honest, it actually caused me to consider the possibility that I was being scammed and that the reason he was discouraging me from going any further was that they didn’t actually have any test kits. I’m not sure that’s the case but I am certain that I do not trust them at all after this and I am very sorry that they have my personal information now.

So the whole exam room visit was little more than 3½ minutes. I said, “I don’t want to be billed because you didn’t provide me the requested service.” He just shrugged without saying anything. So I interpreted that to mean he wasn’t going to do anything to wave the fee.

After exiting into the lobby I said to the receptionist, ”He didn’t give me the test, so I don’t want to be charged for this.” She immediately handed me a yellow sheet of paper with the billing department’s phone number to call. I took that to mean as far as she was concerned, the charge was a done deal.

As of now, the charge appears as a pending transaction on my bank account. I haven’t decided what I’m going to do about it yet, but I’m certain I’ll never pass through their doors again unless I’m unconscious and I get dragged inside.
