My experience with this attorney is eerily similar to the others described here, but worse. I too noticed her demeanor and apparent competency changed immediately after I retained her; for example I was alarmed by how friendly she was with the opposing side especially given that she was LATE to our meeting. I agree that everyone who hired her should get in touch with each other and see if a class action lawsuit (with 3 persons or more) is warranted, and further ask anyone who retained her while at a federal agency (such as HHS, NIH or FDA) to contact me directly given that I later learned Ms. Farber arranged a settlement deal for one of my colleagues that effectively took away her job after one year. She overcharged me, was belligerent and threatened to sue me after an injury, and provided legal advice and unwarranted and unapproved legal actions that I recently learned may constitute legal malpractice.
One last thing... I've been taking paralegal classes for a few years now & recently learned how to check for complaints against atty's, and she has three in MD.
I was scammed by Mindy Farber who I seriously think has dementia or something. Every thing I read about her is all true now that she has scammed me thousands of dollars. All the little details of her actions towards the clients are all the same. I understand she has been reprimanded by the bar association. I really want to file a class action suit against her. A lawyer in Maryland will help us. I lost a six figured salary job because of Mindy. Now, I am unemployed. In the beginning she tries to trap you by telling you what you want to hear saying she has helped someone in the same situation. She lures you by being so sympathetic. Next day, she forces you to pay the retainer but will not prove she did any work. She was supposed to write a letter for me but would not show me any letter. I keep asking for the proof of letter but she doesn't want to show me. She took my money initially and never returns any of my calls. She is very rude after my credit card was processed. Mindy didn't want to help me. I was so depressed about the whole situation. She scammed me because I was a minority took advantage of me. How can I report her to the bar association? Please contact me so we can put her away. I want to join forces with anyone who went through the same awful situation like me. I need help and want to file a grievance to the Maryland Bar association so she will stop practicing. She will continue to do the samething with a helpless person who needs legal assistance. This below is the exact same thing she did to me. AVOID!! 1.0 star Posted by a client December 29, 2015 She was responsive before I signed the contract. From that point forward she was an absolute space cadet. She would only take action on my case when I called her after receiving a letting from the opposing side, for her to only misquote me in her response to them or tell me to ignore them. Her ONLY real communication with opposing side was an email that COMPLETELY misrepresented my case and what I said. She seldom remembered anything about the case and clearly did far less than what she billed for it. Her bills were overblown and fabricated. She did not give me recommendations but instead asked me what she should do next. At one point I confronted her about making absolutely no headway despite the fact many months and thousands I paid and she agreed to do some pro bono work. In the end I declined her free help and settled the case without her. I was able to work with HRC of Maryland and get a far more favorable settlement than what she recommended I take. She was a TOTAL waste of money. I could not recommend enough that you stay well 1.0 star Posted by a Employment client April 28, 2010 Mindy Farber represents the very worst of the legal profession--she failed to perform even the most basic of legal services; did irreparable harm to my claim; double and triple billed me; and refused to provide essential information about my matter to a new attorney, ruining my case. She has been disciplined twice by the Maryland State Bar and reprimanded by the DC Bar--I was not fortunate enough to be warned about her before she took me for thousands of dollars. I hope that this post will save someone else from the nightmare I have experienced.
