I attempted to purchase movie tickets from Harkins Theater for my family, but their site was down so I opted to use Fandango, against my better knowledge.
Harkins offered a military discount, so I assumed Fandango would also. No. Not only did they not honor a military discount for my two active duty military family members, they lied to me and said that Harkins did not either.
Three times while attempting my purchse, my date for purchase kept switching on me. When I finally figured that the date was the correct date, it swithced again just as I made the purchase. I was not worried, however, because the Fandango "worry free" policy indicates that if a refund or exchange is requested within two hours of the movie, it will be honored. I had eight days. So, I again attempted to make the purchase. Again, the date switched on me. I finally got it to stay on the correct date, made my second purchase, then went in to request my refund on the erroneaous date. To my surprise a messgage appeared telling me that since my purchse was over $100, I could not have my money refunded! So I called customer service. After being placed on hold for 58 minutes, I was finally able to speake to a representative. She told me I could not get a refund. I expalined my issue to her. She then told me I could only get Fandango credit. I did not want Fandango credit since i will never, ever use this corrupt company again. Finally, after jumping through hoops for her, she said I could have credit but that Fandango would assess a fee!
