“buyer beware”

We purchased a pool complete kit on june 30, 2020 when they called and we talk after purchase we were told that we would be getting the tracking information in about a week. We never received a call or any tracking information tried multiple times to get a hold of him.

Jay then told us that we were told that they was all on back ordered, then we could expect delivery of our pool on august 3 to 13. Then they said if we cannot wait they understand and would refund our money. On august 3 still no email, so we again sent multiple emails and tried to call, still no reply.

So we sent another email requesting status and we stated if the pool has not shipped please cancel our order. We was told once that it was due to shipping delays, we told him that we would drive up there and pick it up, jay told us he does not allow that due to covid-19.

We want our money back not reply sent three or four emails still no reply trying to call left messages no reply.

Then we get another message from the company stating it will be the end of august i replied and told them just cancel we want our money back no reply, still no reply.

We called my bank told them what was going on they wanted us to file fraud complaint! for selling items that is listed in stock but not in. I told him i did not want to do that i just want our money back.

After three weeks of emailing calling leaving messages finally getting a an email from jay which is a very rude person. Say thing like in a perfect world, perfect this and perfect that.

I told him we just want the order canceled! i don’t understand why it is not being canceled we want our money back. Finally 3 1/2 weeks after telling them the first time to cancel our order. Very rude jay told us our order was canceled, now three days later it still shows our order is being processed.

They did tell us it could take up to 20 days before we receive our refund, why? When they can take the money out as soon as we place the order, why does it take 20 days to get our money back?

I believe they just say whatever they want to get your money. They make you believe that they are a christian-based company, that use bible verses all over their website. They lie to you so much, how can they be a christian-based company.

So here we are almost 3 months later when promised a pool and having to pay for a loan! when we don’t have the product.

Now are they going to pay the loan payments, no! are they going to pay for all the dirt work that we had done for a pool that was promised, no! are they going to pay for having the dirt work redone after it sit there for three months, “no”, and now it has to be reworked, no! yes we are very mad, about this!

We do believe this company should not be in business!

We believe this company should take all the bible verses off their website because, they are not “christian-based”, we believed if they was a christian-based company that would they be honest to you, and tell you at the beginning they are not in stock, and it could take 3 or 4 month!

Besides that, after we made our purchase. Now on their website they have warnings that it might take a couple of weeks longer. Where is the couple weeks, why wasn’t we told that it could take months.

Then we found out another couple at our church also ordered a pool from this company and they are getting the same runaround as we are.

If you cannot get items, why are you trying to sell the items?

Other company websites has it listed out of stock.

So they are selling items they do not have in stock they do not know when they will be back in stock.

So “buyer beware”, do not buy anything from familypoolfun.com this company will lie to you!

We have kept all of the emails from this company and the couple of text messages they sent to us! so, now when people ask us about purchasing a pool. We tell them to not us them, and we tell them why.

We are also, more than happy to show them the emails messages if they want to see them!

I simply needed to replace my above ground pool. I looked online and found "Family Pool Fun". I ordered the pool on May 29, 2020. Jay Backer (Joe Backers twin brother) told me it would be 4 weeks till delivered where most companies took 6 weeks. Well, I heard nothing from Family Pool Fun for 4 weeks so I started to bomb them with messages, text messages, phone calls, etc asking them when can I expect my pool. I had a pool installer lined up for July 8th, 2020 but had to post pone them until further notice.

I texted Joe and Jay Backer on July 4, 2020 asking them when my pool is scheduled to be delivered. I received a text message back an hour and 1/2 later saying it will be delivered between July 17 - 23, 2020. Well, their website states that they will contact me when the pool leaves the warehouse and to expect 5 days for delivery. It's July 21, 2020 and guess what...no phone call about delivery and no pool.

So bottome line...Jeff Backer, Representative in the House of Representatives in the MN Government (R) District 12A runs a shady "Family" business with his twin brother Jay, taking peoples money, and I'm talking thousands of dollars from each one and never sending out the product that was bought and giving horrible customer service if any at all, and thinking it's ok. Is this the kind of people you want running your Government? Let alone a business.

Just look at all the reviews on google, trust pilot, etc and see if this same story doesn't constantly repeat itself, over and over again. I regret choosing this company and I wonder what will happen to my $3000 they took from me back in May 2020. But think about Jeff Backer helping run our Government. If he thinks it's ok to run a business this way then he will run the government this way and that's just wrong!

This company has every excuse there is to why they took our payment in June but still did NOT to this day give us our pool

It's July I really dont think my family will get to use a pool this summer Thanks Family Pool Fun

We are out almost $2,000.00 dollars plus more if you include the wasted time we spend on the phone listening to there stories of why they dont have it on a truck to our house or even the money we lost for the installers to come on the day it was to arrive and never showed up.

Many other fees we dont even have to list

Worst Company ever!!!

*Buyer Beware*

Ordered the premium package pool kit and did not receive the liner but did receive an extra pump. Contacted the company for a return shipping label for the pump, and to get the liner I never received. The only response I ever got over and over was can you please send pictures of the pump. I have sent pictures 3 times and I just keeping getting the same response.

I have explained numerous times that my contractor is waiting on the liner and we need this ASAP. I filed a complaint with the BBB and it’s been days since I have received any email from Jay Backer. The part I find funny, Jay’s repeat emails requesting pictures of this pump show the pictures I sent just below his response. They refuse to take phone calls and will only communicate by email and have ceased doing that.

They are very nice to you when you are trying to buy something, but it seems when something doesn’t go right, they just give a runaround. Here I am an honest customer letting them know I can send back this extra filtration system and can’t get help. STAY AWAY folks!! You have been warned!
