Took my 2016 Jeep Cherokee into the dealer to have them repair an issue causing what felt like the engine was misfiring. My original mechanic diagnosed the problem as trans shifting issue. The dealer was supposed to have an upgrade for this problem. The car was dropped of at 8 am with the understanding that they would hook it up to the diagnostic machine. It was going to take them the whole day to figure this issue out.
What happened was, they told me that I would have to leave the car for another day because they couldn't figure out what was wrong. They said it could be a misfire, a bad rocker arm. Now they checked the misfire monitor and found nothing, did a docs and found nothing, also did a tcm and found nothing.
Since I needed the car back that night, I asked to pick it up. When I arrived to pick up the car, she gave me a bill for $129.00 and told me it was to hook it up to the monitor. They could not find anything wrong, but would need it for another day. No answers to the problem, no answers on what needed to be fixed just give them $129.
No answers for a dealer that is supposed to be high tech and have all the answers. If I pay to have something done, I expect that they will do a complete job and repair the car. None of this stuff of lets throw something against the wall and see what sticks.
I also expect that if you are not going to do the job right, that I should not be charged for your poor skills and ability. I would not recommend anyone take there car to Falls Motor City Chrysler for a car purchase or work.
