I bought a 1995 Chevy Malibu in 2000 a few years after I got out the military so I could make it to work. I figured at the time I would buy it used since I didn't have a full-time job that I was comfortable with and was told I should try Charlie Falk. It had about 75,000 miles on it and wasn't to old so I figured it would last about a few good years til I was ready to trade it in and buy a new car.
I had this car for about 61/2 to 7 month when I was leaving my job and got on the interstate and the car just cut off going 60 on the on ramp. And I was forced to coast to the side of the road. I called my uncle who was a mechanic to come check it out to see if he could help me get it running again. And he checked what he could from ignition coil, to alternator and battery and couldn't figure out why it wouldn't turn over. So I had it towed to a mechanic who put it on the diagnostic machine to see what the car's computer was saying. And it said nothing as if the car was running fine. So the mechanic said he looked it over and he couldn't figure out from the normal things that cause a car not to start what could be wrong. Since even the computer didn't give him a point to start from. So again I had it towed back to Charlie Falk on Jefferson Avenue where I had purchased the car and told the sales manager there that it just shut off and my mechanic can't figure out what's going on with it. So he told me ok he would have his maimtenance team look at it, and about two days later they called me back in for there results.
I went back and spoke with the maintenance and sales manager. And the maintenance manager couldn't tell me and didn't know why the car wouldn't start or why the computer hadn't told him anything on his diagmositc for him to go off. And so we stood in the sales managers office4 looking at each other. I told him since he couldn't figure out what the issues was and my mechanic couldn't figure out the problem then he mine as well keep the car and the few payments I made and count it as a rental. Because I wasn't paying for a car that doesn't run and sits in my yard while I have to find rides back and fourth to work and what have you. I gave him the keys and I thought we were good.
Til this past Friday 12/11/2015 I got a garnishemnt summons from my job and was told they were paying it for this car I had turned in. It has been 14 years later and the Virginia Beach courts have given a judgement againest and i wasn't properly served orr been inthe state since 2007. Currently looking for a lawyer to help me with this since I am in Lake Charles, Louisiana and it's in the Virginia Beach General District Court!
