**WARNING** Do not trust this Don Cairns or Curtis Chapur from EyeSee Computers and Security Camerasto sell you anything worth using in Winnipeg. They sell total junk and don't stand behind their products at all. All of their Google reviews and Facebook reviews are from friends and family, not real customers. Read them closely and you can easily spot the fakes.
They ripped me off for over $1000.00 in totally useless security products, and also screwed up my computer at the same time. They promised to fix my computer "free" if I bought the security equipment - when I got it back ALL MY DATA WAS GONE and my hard drive was wiped clean, and they even installed a PIRATE COPY of Windows.
Then to top if all off, the entire security system was a disaster.
The cameras they sold me were supposed to work in our cold winnipeg winters, they said they were certified to -40C. When I got the equipment home and the installer finally showed up 3 days later he LAUGHED at the cheap plastic cameras and pulled out the booklet from the camera box that clearly said "operating temperature -10c". I immediately tried to call Don Cairns from EyeSee Computers and Security Cameras and he wouldn't even come to the phone. I was forced to speak to his lackey Curtis Chapur who told me the book was a misprint and the cameras would work fine.
So the installer went ahead and started putting them in. After the first one was hooked up, I connected my monitor and we watched as the video quality went from watchable to totally unusable as the camera got colder and colder. The installer said he couldn't do anything because he was only a subcontracter and didn't actually work directly for the company. He said Don Cairns from EyeSee Computers and Security Cameras pays him cash under the table so he doesn't have to do any income tax deductions or pay any Workers Compensation Insurance fees.
By this time I knew I'd been totally taken and ripped off by Don Cairns and Curtis Chapur from EyeSee Computers and Security Cameras so I told the installer to take the camera down and I boxed everything back up and took it right back to their store at 485 St Mary's Road. Don Cairns laughed at me and outright refused to either refund my money, or give me anything that was actually rated to work in our weather. He bluntly told me that store policy was "All sales are final" and that he already paid the installer cash to do the install and it was my fault for sending him away.
If you really want a proper security camera system installed in Winnipeg, DO NOT GO TO EYESEE COMPUTERS AND SECURITY CAMERAS unless you just want to lose your money and get complete junk. And then get laughed at by the arrogant owner and his lackey employees who don't care at all once they get your money.
These ripoff artists used to use the name IC ENTERNET if you go to the court registry and look at all the times they got sued and lost you can see why they tried to change their names. They even got sued by the government for not paying their employees! This is the kind of research I wish I did BEFORE I gave the ripoff artist Don Cairns any of my hard earned money.
I ended up buying a completely new system from a different company, and the same guy who came and looked at my house before even giving me any price was the same guy who installed it, and they didn't take a penny from me until everything was exactly how I wanted it. I am now very happy and have a good working system, I just wish I didn't waste all that money trying to get one from the ripoff artist Don Cairns and his associate ripoff artist Curtis Chapur from EyeSee Computers and Security Cameras. They call it that because when you walk in the door Don Cairns says "I see you have some money you don't need!! Let me help myself to it!"
This company has a plethora of problems. #1. The business and the owners home were raided by the RCMP for selling illegal equipment including illegal security cameras. The company and owner (Don Craig) have been charged with several offences and is likely to lose his home and business as he is facing major jail time. #2. They don't provide any support for the illegal equipment they sell. After charging me over $3000 for a camera system I could have bought on eBay for less than $800, it completely stopped working. They told me I had to ship it back to China (China!!!) for warranty repairs because they don't bulls it, they only sell it. #3. The installers they use don't even work for them. The installer showed up and was completely clueless about what they sold me and how I wanted everything set up. All of the cables were too short and I had to pay the installer extra for proper cabling.
The cameras were so cheap and flimsy that 2 of them broke just from getting screwed down. Don refused to replace them and said I had to pay for new ones. #4. They will try and make unauthorized charges on your credit card. 2 weeks after I finally got everything working after hiring a reputable installer and buying 2 new cameras from his company., my credit card had an additional $390 charge from these thieves. Of course I promptly contacted my credit card company and reversed the charges. They had no proof I had authorized the second charges and VISA gave me back my money. In short, don't trust these guys for security. I found out later even the guy Curtis who works in the store has a major criminal record including credit card fraud. So I guess that explains the extra charges on my card. This company will do and say anything to try and get your money. They aren't security camera experts, they are fraud and ripoff artists. Don't walk away - run.
