I worked for the company as a sales associate and optical tech. I was highly trained and competant in my job. All was well for a while until I transferred to a store that was a one hour commute from my house.

For the first few months I was okay. There seemed to be some tension there, and employees seemed self protective as if they were walking on eggshells. I didn't mind, and I just did my job, then something happened.

The long commute took a toll on me physically. Sitting in the car for over two hours four days a week caused a serious tear in the ligaments of my left knee. The pain was overwhelming and intolerable at times. I toughed it out as well as I could for as long as I could. I was living on painkillers, and I finally went to see a doctor.

I was told that I seriously tore the meniscus in my knee from holding it in a cramped position while driving. It was recommended that I don't travel. I told this to the manager, and she told me to bring her a doctor's note. However, in order to get the note, I had to get an MRI that I couldn't afford. Since I was severely limping and in pain all the time, it seemed to me that my condition was obvious. A note was unnecessary. All they had to do was transfer to another store. There's a store 2 miles from my house. They refused to transfer me. They began nitpicking about my performance. (try keeping up when all you can feel in a burning tear in your knee every time you move)

In spite of all their virtue signaling about caring about their employees, they forced me to continue driving and to continue damaging my already damaged knee. This in effect was forcing me to make medical decisions that went against my better judgement. All the while they held my job over my head.

One day I showed up a work in horrible pain, barely able to walk. The assistant manager said in a threatening tone, "I need you on your A game. You look like you're on your C game." I explained that my pain level was over the top. Remember that I had been limping around for about two months at this point, and I had requested a transfer. I made my way to a chair because I had to sit down. I was trying to recover from the pain when this same assistant manager waddled over to me and said, "We're too busy to just sit around. Get up and clean glasses." This would have required me to walk across the room and stand on my damaged knee.

What a sickening, cold blooded thing to do to your employee! I had up until my injury been a very productive employee. I left before I decked that little creep. And I left because the pain was more than I could take. Their reptilian response was to fire me for leaving my job without kissing someone's butt. All they care about is their power trip.

They're the one's who injured me by forcing me to drive when I told them that driving caused my injury. They're the one's who forced me to keep re-injuring my knee. Then they play victim and say that I was the one who was in the wrong. These people are no better than sociopaths. They treat their employees like farm animals. You're okay until you can't pull the plow anymore, then they send you to the knacker.

I am permantly damaged. I'll probably have a limp for the rest of my life. My quality of life is diminished as I can't do most of things I used to enjoy. All because of an unethical, greedy, power-tripping company that refused to transfer me and forced me to perform a task that was physically damaging to me. And they knew they were causing me harm. They can't feign ignorance.

Do Not Ever accept a job offer from these sadistic greed heads.

I went to Eyeglass world because I wanted some transition lens glasses something that I could wear while driving and out in the sun that would change to sunglasses then revert back to regular glasses when indoors. I saw the sign on the door saying buy 2 pair for $78 dollars well I wasn't really worried about that price because I knew I needed to have a new prescription so I factored that into the equation.

I spoke with the doctor an asian lady by the name of Nguyen who was very nice and understanding when I told her what I wanted. However, when trying to fill the prescription was when the nightmare came about. The clerk who was taking down all this information was trying to sell me $320 worth of products while I was on the virge of saying yes I went home and thought about it and I came the conclusion that I didn't need to pair of glasses one for inside the car and the other for outside so I told them that. I simply ordered a pair online for $8.95 a flip up that would cover my glasses when in the car so I would only need to buy one pair.

I was still happy at this point thinking that the clerk was going to give me my glasses for $140 but when I went to pick them up I discovered that my new glasses weren't transition at all and he (the clerk) acted as though I had never mentioned the word he said "oh those are $100 more expensive" I then proceeded to find the Dr. that had given me the prescription and she certified that yes I had wanted transition lenses all the time and that it was just a mixup. I said no it was no mixup because I kept repeating over and over again that I wanted something that would change to sunglasses outside. They told me that they would have to special order those glasses and it could take 10 days or 2 weeks. Nothing was ever said about it taking 2 weeks.

Besides pulling on me the bait and switch they gave me a lousy tiny cloth to clean my glasses with. I think that the commissioner needs to know about this company to have them put out of business or something.

Purchased two pair of glasses with anti-streak etc and was concerned about frames not lenses a few months in I realized I was having trouble seeing the computer screen in front of me...went a month or two cleaning each morning with lens cloth and lens cleaner (only use this product) - have for years...and I just assumed I must keep smudging them - finally in the last few weeks realized one pair has a permanent streak across one lens and the other is chewed up - like I have been cleaning with sandpaper.... lenses.... they are terrible...I am angry…never - ever had a lens issues - even close to this.....I can't wear either pair without a major vision issue - so have to take them off and look at computer screen fuzzy to see what is there correctly.... unbelievable - will continue to warn others.... unbelievable and sad for there to be charlatans still selling products in the US in 2015!!! Happy Thanksgiving Eyeglass World... I hope you can sleep well with such deception....$600 is a lot to me... and you abused my trust....
