Exxon Mobil Corporation Reviews
On February 4th 2023, I stopped by this gas station on my way to pick up my two diaper age children. I told the gas station attendant "15 cash regular" and he smiled at me and went on to pump the gas. It seemed like I was there for awhile but because I was on the phone I was not paying attention and noticed that my gas tank was full. In confusion I looked for the attendant and said, "excuse me" but he was attending to another customer.
When he came over I informed him he put in the wrong amount and he told me he thought I said "fill it up". I thought he could possibly siphon or take the gas back because I never had something like this happen before but he told me I had to pay for it or he would call the police. As I did not have the money, I could not and he went on to call someone while I called the police myself as I wanted to get things moving since one of my children is special needs and I didn't have time for his bluffing. During that time the attendant actually smiled and laughed at the fact I had a special needs child.
My mother in law had to bring my kids to the station and pay for the gas. When I left I recalled the customer service rep I was on the line with who informed me their calls are recorded and they heard me say 15. I promptly returned to the gas station, the attendant would not give me his name (because of course now he didn't speak english) and I reached out to the owner since their store number didn't work who hung up on me. He also taunted me via phone and texts. He accused me of trying to get "gas free all the time" when I never had been there before and then thanked me sarcastically for the money.
I want an apology from the owner and the attendant who laughed at me. I also want them to work on their customer service so this does not happen to another individual. The attendant should be confirming the amounts. The owner should be handling complaints.
I went to the Exxon at 6222 Livingston Road, Oxon Hill, MD. While there I tried to use my debit card. The pump only said prepay. When I went inside to prepay the middle Eastern male clerk refused to answer a question about the price of Red Bull. I said hold on, and I went to grab another Red Bull. He assisted another customer. I asked him why he was helping another customer when I was in line. He said I stepped away. I still brought it to his attention. He ignored me.
I went to my truck to pump gas. Three employees came to assist me with the pump. The first employee was the same middle Eastern man, then Rose Mary (a short middle Eastern looking older lady), and last a Latino looking male. All three asked if I had issues with the pump. I said no. It was strange to have three individuals come out to help.
When I called back on 01/07/2022, Rose Mary skipped over my concerns about the customer service received. She answered the phone with “What do you want to know?” and “We do not have a middle Eastern man here.” She repeated this three times, “What do you want to know?” I replied that I was reporting the bad customer service received on 01/05/2022.
She skipped over the customer service subject twice. She defended her position several times as if I needed help pumping my gas. I didn’t need help which is why I refused the help from the three employees. The Exxon station staff at this location are preoccupied with embarrassing new customers than offering good customer service. Rose Mary (manager) defended her employee’s actions from 01/05/2022. Avoid this business entirely.
