Extreme Towing Services, Inc Reviews
This place engages in PREDATORY TOWING practices. They have no regard for the law. I came upon them in the process of towing my vehicle from in front of my house. They are required by the CA vehicle code to drop the vehicle immediately if interrupted by the vehicle owner unless they vehicle has already been removed from the private property and is traveling on a public road. This was right in front of my house where the truck was parked and I told them that i was the owner. They rolled up their window and sped off without even securing the axles with chains.
The security company they were contracted with (Patrol Masters) had them creep up with their lights off and quietly lift my truck onto their trailer after it had only been on the street for 30 mins after being repaired in my garage. It isn't the tow company's responsibility to verify this kind of information, but they don't have to work with companies that engage in wrongful towing of residents' vehicles from their own HOA's common property.
I am going after them the 4 times the towing fee plus the full depreciated value of my property (in accordance with the property conversion tort in California law). If this happens to you, go to suetowtrucks.com for their small claims legal kit and lots of free information.
On 10/13/2017, at 2:20 PM, my son stopped his VW Jett car in our private, gated community street, to pick up mail and go to the bathroom, across, near the swimming pool. He was absent 11 minutes in total. When he got out of the bathroom, his car was gone. First, my son parked his car way more than 15 ft required from fire hydrant; street had no visible "No Parking" sign. Second, when we were trying to retrieve our car from EXTREME TOWING SERVICES, I called them to ask, why did they towed the car, how much it will cost to retrieve it, etc. In turn, I was insulted by some woman, handling the phone and was told as follows: "It is $245 IN CASH only, and if you are not here until 5:00 PM, it will be double tomorrow". We drove to two banks, retrieved the cash from ATM and went to pick up the car to their location at 74741 Joni Drive, Unit "A", Palm Desert, CA 92260. There, we also got insulted by the same woman, who refused to identify herself, paid $245 IN CASH and eventually retrieved the our car at 4:14PM.
Then, I talked to Fire Marshall, Palm Desert Police, City Hall, etc., and found out that it was illegal, predatory towing. Now, I am going to sue these people, together with HOA, as they are, apparently, approving this kind of "operations" by Towing Company. I guess, they are not doing it for free, knowingly and maliciously breaking the Law.
I am a former employee of this company. My first paycheck bounced due to no money in bank. They refused to pay me until 2 weeks later. When the 2nd paychek was due that never even was paid. I then quit.
I won a $2800 judgement through the Ca. Labor Commissioner which they refuse to pay and is now in collection.
The company also gave a bad paycheck to another emoloyee. Company seems to be a perpetual fraud and practices dishonesty and misrepresentation to employees.
