Most experienced coral reef hobbyists are alredy aware that sellers of corals tend to optimize their photos to a significant degree, using the perfect lighting and angle to make their corals look better in their advertisments than they probably will in your own aquarium. That is to be expected and at this point in the hobby it is the normal and and not at all something to merit the label of a rip off. However it is my contention, as well as that of many other hobbyists i speak with on a regular basis that Extreme Corals simply takes this embelishment way, way, way too far! In point of fact, simply look at the pictures of the corals on extremecorals.com and compare them to pictures of the same species of corals that are listed on other sites and you will see the amazing and stark differences. This leads one to question: Does Extreme Corals have access to some alien ocean coral reef on another planet that magically produces corals with unnatural glowing characteristics? How is it that Extreme corals is the ONLY company on earth that has corals that seem so unnaturally vibrant and blindingly colorful?
Well, i have ordered from this company several times and so have many of my assiciates in the hobby and what we have received was ALWAYS DRASTICALLY LESS COLORFULL AND GLOWING IN PERSON THAN IN THE PICURES.
This is despite the fact that we utilize the same advanced LED and Hallide lighting that the seller's do. IF you are not sure, take a look at the sample photos that show the coral advertised at Extreme Corals Website and then the second picture that shows it as received...night and day difference that can only be explained with Photo Shop.
