Exteriors of Long Island Reviews

  • Nov 28, 2016

I hired Exteriors of long island, and definitly was a mistake. we all make mistakes, and I truly regret this one. They are not the worst company every. but they just might be the slowest! Ive never had a actually project manager for my house lifting job, they keep sending over sub contractors who do not seem to have any experience. It seems as if Exteriors does not have much experience either

Not sure if they have money issues or what but if they just had a project manager to manage the jobs things might get done correctly the first time correctly. The owner Charlie does answer the phone and seems to be honest, but def doesnt have the experience. Perhaps thats why the company is called exterieors, because interiors and structural items are not their forte. Steve is the general manager, dont really trust him at all. Charlie prides himself on it being a family run company. Id rather it be a proffesional & experienced run company working on my house.

Project has been a huge and lengthy dissappointment. I though Charlies honesty in telling me the project would take longer than most people say, most people say about 3 months, Charlie and Steve told me 4-6 months is more realistic, they didnt want to dissappoint me. 10 months later from start of contruction, Im dissappointed to say the least. Charlie gives the speech how NY rising wants to give him so much work and they love him. I called NY rising to see if they could offer any assitance if I needed to get another contractor, they told me they had no relation or affiliation with Exteriors, they said many contractors claim to be affiliated, but thats because NY rising will work with any Licensed contractor, its up to the homeowner to determine if they are qualified, thats the mistake I made. Just hope my home is done soon, and I can sell it before it falls apart, because I really dont have much confidence in the construction of it unfortunately, and in my opinion and of the many neighbors and other contractors I spoke to, the blame falls exclusively on the contractor, the architect drew up the plans, but if they are not followed, whose to blame? Disappointed!
