Happened to me already twice. First time doctor sent prescription to the pharmacy and Express scripts sent it out to me without me agreeing to purchase it. Prescription through work insurance company ended up to be $225. Its generic pill that have been in existence for years. Same prescription through Costco and Good RX - $53. At Cuban's Drug Cost company - its worth $16 to manufacture. Called them and asked them to match the price - they refused. Told them I dont want this medication from them - they insist they cannot do it. I didnt use those medications. Second time - Dr. again sends prescription and it gous authomatically to Express Scripts. I call them right after I get home (about two and half hours) - to cancel the prescription since its 5 times more expensive through them again than without insurance through Cuban's DrugCost or GoodRx. They tell me the system is down. I call again a bit later - they tell me the drug is already shipped. I told them they are pushing on consumers unwanted goods or service - because I cannot see it any other way. I am more than ready to return the medications as I didnt even open the second shipment and intend to drop it back at postal office and say I refuse this package. Its still not resolved.
I was notified by Express Scripts on 07/18/18 (received 07/24/18) that they were terminating my Part D plan in one week. The excuse was that I was no longer in their service area, which is the 50 states in USA. I moved from Ohio to Wisconsin, due to health issues. I complained several times, but they would not recognize their error, and that Wisconsin is still in the USA.
I paid for the full year, in advance. Only after repeated requests did I receive a refund two months later. Because of the incorrect cancellation by Express Scripts, I have experienced significant added costs to my medications, and expenses incurred while trying to correct the actions of Express Scripts.
I registered complaints through Maximus Federal Services, who did nothing. I suspect Maximus is a front for Express Scripts. I complained to Medicare, who did nothing.
This is not the only problem I had with Express Scripts, but I will write the other problems off as incompetence. I assume not intentional, which would be fraudulent
This is how Express Scripts mistreats their elderly and disabled customers.
I received an email from Express Scripts saying I was receiving a prescription for $400 so I called to inquire since I don't use their mail order except for Botox and that is sent directly to the doctor. They said my doctor had faxed them a script for Relpax so they filled it and I have to pay for it. I had a credit card on file so they charged it. I disputed the charge but I am fearful that they will still bill me. I have not opened the package. I called my doctor and they have no record of ever faxing it to Express Scripts in fact, they did send it to CVS where I filled it a month before for $10. Does anyone know if there is a government agency that we can contact to resolve this? I want to see the actual fax from the doctor. I would also like to see the documentation that says the consumer has to pay for any prescription then send.
This is THE WORST company I've ever had the displeasure of working for. The first lie they tell you is that your going to get "differential pay" for working the evening shift. The only "differential pay" you receive is from 6pm to 8pm. The second lie they tell you is you get 5 weeks of training. You only get 3 weeks of training and it's roll playing, so by the time they throw you on the floor to take incoming calls, you don't even know how to work the computers or look anything up.
The supervisors are a joke because they're NEVER around and if you happen to catch one, they refuse to help you "because your not on their team". They say they give you a "bonus" but once I obtained 1100 scripts and earned an $800 bonus check, NOTHING I ever did for them was right again. They nit picked at EVERYTHING I did and most of the items they complaind about I was never even trained on.
Their computers are horrible. They give you 5 minutes from the time you clock in and thats providing the time clock even works properly, takes you 2 minutes to walk to your desk, then they make sure the computers are barely running so you don't have all your screens up within 3 minutes to take the calls. Then that way they can send you emails regarding your "ACW time" and it affects bonuses, raises and transers to other department. I have NEVER worked for a company that when the computers aren't working properly their attitude is "well get use to it". The phone calls aren't much better. You'll be on the phone with a client and they just cut you off then the customer thinks you hung up on them. Half the time the bathrooms don't work either.
Employees are so pissed off that they need "permission" to use the bathroom then get timed for how long they're away from their desk, they throw things down the commodes so they won't flush. But it doesn't matter because half the sinks barely have any water coming out of them. When we tell them this is a health hazard, they threaten you. They've been sued for millions by Anthem and on April 13 they had 6 more clients sue them. So if they're cheating their clients, they're cheating their employees. I would NEVER recommnend working for this company because NOTHING you do will make them happy and it's all to prevent you from getting a bonus check
My husband received some of his medications and supplies today from Express Scripts(Tricare). I noticed there was only one box of pen needles for his insulin pens. I logged into his account and sure enough it was correct only one box instead of the usual five. Not only is this not enough needles to last him for 90 days but the co pay for one box is $20.00. I called Express Scripts and immediately was told there was a co pay increase. I told them I had already checked the cost medication checker on their website and for 5 boxes the co pay is also $20.00.
The $20.00 for 5 boxes is what we have been paying for years. My husband recently got a new primary care doctor and he wrote the script for 33 days and 1 box.(100 needles to a box). So, come to find out after speaking to 8 people and 1 1/2 hours on the phone is if your doctor makes a mistake and does not do your prescription for 90 days its the same co pay for 30 days as it is for 90 days. They will not take returns. Because it was not their fault they will not credit the account for the $20.00. So, I have to pay $20.00 for the 1 box and then pay another $20.00 for the subsequent 4 boxes when the doctor re writes the prescription.
To me this is such a rip off to veterans. If we hadn't found out through this mistake we would never have realized that at least for the needles it doesn't matter if its one or five boxes its the same co pay. Everyone I spoke to was completely rude, kept me on hold forever and kept trying to tell me how there were new co pays in effect as of 2/18. New co pays had nothing to do with this situation. By the way if you ever need to speak to the CEO's office of Express Scripts the number is 1-800-871-4663 This is just one headache among many that I have hadxpress Scripts Tricare My husband received some of his medications and supplies today from Express Scripts(Tricare).
By the way if you ever need to speak to the CEO's office of Express Scripts the number is 1-800-871-4663 This is just one headache among many that I have had to endure from this company over the years.
My wife’s doctor submitted the order to them, and without my knowledge Express Scripts just sent us the medication with the payment invoice. Why can’t they explain the cost to us and let us decide if we wanted the medication? I called them for a return since we not even opening the case and they told me they can’t take the medication back and insisted us for the payment. This is very unlawful and really bad business practice. What IF the bill come showing that we need to pay thousands of dollar without us knowing it first? Don’t we have the right to decide? Please have at least decency to call your customer first before deciding things on your own. Something must be done with this company!
United Health Care (A great health insurance company) switched to Express Scripts as a 3rd party pharmaceutical provider.Bad move!!!
I had switched over to COBRA due to loss of my position. When I switched over I dropped my son from my coverage. United dropped the ball on that but one quick phone call all corrected. By switching to employee plus spouse my out of pocket dropped from $7500 to $4000.
This has been verified many times with many different reps at United and my ex company. My out of pocket has been met, again verified several times with both United and my company. So now in August it is time for my monthly med order my pharmacy says "your copay is $135" What???!!! I call United and after being patient with them we think we have it solved.Customer service at United assures me that they have it showing that it is met.
I receive a statement from United showing all met as of 8/14. I figure all resolved. September 7 comes and I place my order and guess what???!!! I need to make a copay!!!!
I call express scripts and go through the whole thing again and tell the agent this time I don't have any money and need it resolved Immediately. Her answer 'I have to forward this to an account manager and I don't know his schedule but I can guarantee it will not happen today. This is after I tell her this is for anti rejection drugs. She couldn't have cared less.
I have now paid my copay and am still trying to now get them to reimburse me and they still have not corrected there information.Bottom line-- I am probably out the money but at least I won't have to come up with any more cash.
I have used this company for 9 years as required by my employer. I have had issues in the past but this last one really put me over the edge. Worst customer experience. During the 9 years I have been on the same medication with different dosages. This last dosage required a total of 315 pills for 3 month supply. Instead of them contacting me to let me know that this medication has a limit of 90 pills, they send out the 90 pills and charge me $250 which is the cost for 3 month supply. So I call on 7/6, speak to supervisor who told me about the limitations and my dr has to send approval to get the remaining 225 pills. I received an approval letter and it said to call to get the remaining pills. Call and agent had no idea what I was talking about and wanted to "refill" the prescription for 90 pills. Spoke to a supervisor who after researching for 8 minutes, confirmed that I was approved and he could send out the 225 pills for $250. What? I already paid for a 3 month supply. But he says not that since the dr approval came through that original prescription has "no refills" and this would be considered a "new" prescription.
This is ridiculous! After complaining his solution was to give me $150 credit since the 1 month supply would have cost $100 at a local pharmacy and they would send a fax request for a new prescription for the full 315 pills to my dr. They recommended that I also call the dr. So let's see...they're giving me a credit since I was really overcharged and have to pay another $250 and I have to spend more time contacting my dr...so wrong! Why not do the right thing and have a system in place that you contact the customer when a 3 month supply can't be sent. If I had been contacted, my dr could've done the approval immediately and I would have received my correct prescription for $250. So dissatisfied! Shame on you, Express Scripts, for making money off of customers! Supervisor did not care that I was going to share this experience with social media, websites, etc.
My wife has taken a well known medicine for years successfully. Her doctor ordered a refill of the same medicine recently. Express Scripts filled it with a generic. They never informed the doctor or the patient. They claim they have the right to change a doctor's prescription without notifying doctor or patient and do not require anyone's approval. The generic is of a family of medicines my wife has previously taken and had very adverse results. Express Scripts refuses to take back the medine provided and will not refund the cost of providing the wrong order - $100.00!! Nor provide the originally prescribed medicine. The new generic has only been on the market a few weeks. When did a pharmarist gain the right to change a doctor's order without approval? My wife goes to an experienced professional licsened doctor who has compiled a medical record on her case. Express Scripts has never seen my wife nor examined her nor has access to her medical history. How can they dispense an unkown medicine under these circumstances? By the way if Express Scripts agrees to dispense the prescribed medicine they will charge me an additional $160.00. My advise to everyone is: Have your doctor wirte the words "no substitutes" on every prescription, but I am unsure if this would prevent Express Scripts from playing doctor.
I worked for Medco Health Solutions for approximately 15 years before Express Scripts bought it. At Medco we actually cared about the patients we were sending medications to. For the most part it was a happy fun work place.
When Express Scripts took over things really changed. They changed the rules for the patients. No longer were medications covered that the patients had been taking for years. Co-pays were increased to the point that many were out of financial reach of people on a fixed income. Customer service was practically non-existent.
Many times, and I mean MANY TIMES while talking with people that were with Medco for years, I was told how discouraged with the business practices of Express Scripts and disappointed that Medco was sold to them.
The happy fun work place that us long term employees were used to turned into a horrible, soul draining nightmare. Our hands were tied so tight that we were no longer able to help our patients. We spent a great deal of time on the phone apologizing for the nasty treatment they were given by Express Scripts.
It was horrible!!! I ended up being laid off after 17 years at that place. It was such a mixed blessing. So sad to be let go of what was a great job but at the same time unbelievably thrilled that I didn't have to go to work at Express Scripts any longer.
Express Scripts is the worst organization I have ever dealt with! They're business processes are substandard at best, the "supervisors" blatantly provide inaccurate instruction just to get you off the phone, and at the end of the day you literally have no wins because Express Scripts is not your choice, it's your healthcare providers decision. They run a dictator type organization in which they do what they want and expect you to follow their rules.
I am appalled at Express Scripts unethical handling of billing procedures, lack of effort to address a flaw in their notification procedures, intentional use of misdirection, and lack of knowledge about why they have procedures in place that make the primary account owner responsible for all charges (w/o notification or approval) but lack of ability to control what can be charged. Insurance is not a luxury, it's a necessity in which I am fortunate enough to be able to provide for my family; but as the primary provider of the insurance; Express Scripts has gone out of their way to make being a responsible consumer and benefits owner impossible! No reasonable business owner allows the primary beneficiary to add people to their account out of necessity and then tie their hands by saying that everyone on here can use this account without limits and at the end of the day we will never notify you that your covered persons are incurring charges without paying them, and then throw those ignored charges on your credit without ever telling you once that there was an issue. This companies behavior is highly unethical, inappropriate, and needs to be addressed.
