Express Flooring Reviews

Not enought glue was applied on the orginal install. tiles are lifting and shrinking.

  • Jun 12, 2021

I chose this flooring from a sample the salesman showed me. I told him I wanted a light color. The installed flooring bears no resemblance to the sample. The sample showed a consistant light color, but the actual floor is multicolored with many pieces of dark floor. The contract states that it was to be a two-day job. It was begun on May 18, 2021 and still is not finished. The day the installer arrived, I told him I did not like the color, but he installed it anyway. The floor is not flat, some of the moldings were not replaced, some of the quarter round is missing and some of the quarter round is poorly installed.

The flooring was installed on July 2020.

I am writing this note in regard to my purchase of flooring from Express flooring. The name of the sales man is Kyle Hoffman. I have tried to contact him several times since the purchase and he has not returned my calls or test messages.

I want my money returned to me and I want my old flooring !

This flooring cost over 10,000.0)!!!! This is a very large amount of money to me. I am a hard working nurse and have only my personal income to support myself. ! I believe in honesty and integrity and expected the same in return.

1) The product that I purchase in July 2020, is not as durable as tile. He stated this product was more durable than tile. I requested tile. I did not request vinyl plank. I did not want vinyl plank. He insisted that it was more durable and would last longer. I asked for tile. If you look at my request. I requested tile !!!!!

2) Mr. Hoffman. stated “ a bowling ball could break tile but this flooring would not be harmed” I have had this flooring for 1.5 months and there is already marking from furniture with just me sitting on it!!!!! Tile would never do this. !!!!! I would never have bought this flooring if there was a chance that me sitting in furniture would cause it to dent. I am very upset that it will cut through where the appliances are sitting on it in the kitchen!!!! I never had problems with tile. I want my old floor back and my money returned to me!!!!!

Express flooring advertises that their luxury vinyl plank does not dent with regular furniture weight. It is on their online advertisement. The luxury vinyl plank that they installed has dents from my furniture. After I told them the dents occurred, They told me I need to place floor protectors under my furniture. I would never have bought this flooring if I had known I would have to use furniture "sliders" to protect the floor !!!!

3) I was not comfortable with this product and he stated that it has a 100% lifetime guarantee so I would not have to worry about anything that went wrong with this product.

4) The caulking around the tile is horrendous. the caulking is uneven. There paint and physical damage to my baseboards. I have viewed many floors done by professionals and none of them look like this!!! My flooring looks terrible!!!! There is waviness at some of the walls the line caulking is different widths and is unacceptable. The installer also damaged my kitchen island near adjacent to the caulking. That damage was not there prior to the installation of the flooring

5) Kyle Hoffman stated Express Flooring does flooring for Mayo Clinic Hospital. He kept insisting that this product would last forever and it had a lifetime warranty. I work for Mayo clinic and know that we have some synthetic flooring products so I thought he was telling the truth and know that Mayo Clinic has quality flooring.

6) I called Kyle Hoffman and cancelled the flooring order prior to instillation. and stated that I was not comfortable buying flooring at this time. I told him that I had changed my mind. This was well within 3 days of signing the original contract. He continued to coerce me by phone and special offers. I kept saying no but then” gave in. “ He stated he would be available to help me and now will not answer my phone calls or messages.

7) Mr Hoffman was contacting me on July 4th holiday. He kept pushing me to purchase the flooring . He was high pressure.

I have contacted Express Flooring several times. They sent a man named Vince out to check my floor. Vince smelled strongly of marijuana. No one should go to work smelling of marijuana. He was probably impaired and I was uncomfortable having him at my house. He also drove himself to my house; possibly driving impaired ! This puts my neighbors and community in danger and his evaluation of my flooring could be altered. It is not good business to have employees visit customers when recently smoking pot.

I have asked for a detailed summary of my installation- I wanted suqre footage, cost of installation and cost of product. They have not yet given to me. This is basic information about the completed work. They sent out the original installer who refused to fix his caulking or the base boards. It is so sloppy His name was Juan. any good installer would look at this work and know it is not professionally completed.

This repairs people are difficult to reach. They do not follow through.

Express Flooring has agreed to pay nearly $100,000 for failing to give customers required notices for home solicitation sales, including the right to cancel a purchase. Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich announced the settlement against Express Home Services LLC Friday. The complaint alleged that some Express Flooring salespeople told customers they could not cancel their order because materials had already been cut, were a closeout special or were specially ordered, or that the installation had already been scheduled, Brnovich said in a written statement. The state also alleged that some salespeople required customers to waive their three-day right to cancel.

Michael Hirsch, a manager for Express Flooring, characterized the incidents as "administrative mistakes” with no intent to defraud customers. "There was a process being done by merely a couple of our independent contractor salespeople in order to facilitate customers who wanted to have their flooring installed urgently and agreed to waive their three-day right to cancel,” he said. "We felt that everything was out in the open and fine, but the AG clearly felt differently and to avoid further litigation we agreed to the settlement.” Once the situation was brought to the attention of Express executives, the sales team was instructed that customers should not waive their rights, even if they are the ones requesting the waiver, he said.

"We actually fixed the problem before the Attorney General brought it to our attention,” Hirsch said of the corrective action the company took in November. "We didn’t wait for the settlement to act.” He noted that in the course of investigating customer complaints about installation issues, the matter of some customers waiving their right to cancel was discovered. In the consent judgment approved by the court on May 8, Express agreed to change the contracts used in home solicitations to comply with Arizona law and provide all required notices.

All salespeople will stop telling customers they do not have a right to cancel a contract, the ruling reads. "It is steep,” Kristen Keogh, a spokeswoman for the Attorney General’s Office, said of the fine. "By bringing this judgment forward we are able to get them to comply.” In addition to the $94,050 civil penalty, Express agreed to pay $5,000 for legal feels in order to settle the complaint. Keogh said she did not know how many complaints were filed. She said the state is aware that Express has changed its practices. The consent judgment indicates the settlement was a voluntary compromise between the state and Express Home Services.

There is not much more I can negatively say about Express Flooring that has not been said by hundreds of other unhappy and dissatisfied customers. My only failure was that I did not do the research prior and have fallen into the same misfortune as those before me.

My Story begins very happily, just retiring from the military and awarded disability benefits. I decided to use some of that hard earned money to upgrade my home with wood flooring. Considering Express Flooring offered a Military discount, they must be a stand up company right? I couldn’t be more wrong1

I was greeted by one of their sales reps at my home to discuss wood flooring options. Much to my surprise I was this man’s first sales call. As we began the process of selling me wood flooring he seemed quite nervous, but hey everyone has a first sale in a position like his. He proceeded to try and sell me wood over laminate while holding and showing me laminate explaining how wood is far superior in quality.

The salesmen told me 3 different warranty lengths, 20, 30 and 50 years. When I asked him about how the flooring butted up again the baseboard he replied with; don’t worry it will look good, He clearly didn’t know. To make matters worse when drawing up the agreement he could not do simple math or calculate percentages and me to do it for him. When calling into the main office to get prices he had no clue he was showing me laminate giving them the wrong code numbers. As it turns out after speaking to the sales manager (Rick) the next day, the rep was in fact brand new. Rick also went on to explain that he had his reservations about hiring him, but was charismatic, though lacked intelligence and industry experience. Rick offered one month off of my bill and a free cruise to compensate me for the experience I had.

Moving along to the install, this is where the disaster really starts to unfold. While I made it clear to the salesmen I wanted the flooring undercut and up against the baseboard, they took the cheap and less labor intensive route installing ¼ round without my consent driving nails into my baseboard. While attempting to have this fixed their operations manager Henry Jaffe insisted that this was all my fault and stated it could not be fixed. They even went as far as trying to bribe me with cash offer of one payment off to avoid conflict. While attempting to reach an agreement Henry refused to replace my damaged baseboards that had ¼ round nailed and glued to them. Also asked me to pay an additional $500 for labor/material costs to fix their error. The plot thickens by Henry asking me to execute a document swearing to secrecy never to tell anyone of the agreement or place it on social media. Henry even went as far as threatening me saying if I take them to court all offers will forever be off the table.

In the end I am taking Express Home Services, LLC dba Express Flooring (ROC200037) to court for damages to my home, repair of my flooring, administrative mistakes and all fees associated. Express Flooring has over 155 BBB complaints, hundreds of negative reviews, thousands in customer payouts. In short, do your research and find a solid company.

I never asked for anything for free, just quality for what I paid for. I guess that was too much to ask of Express Flooring, the courts will decide! I’ll keep you all posted

DO NOT BUY FROM EXPRESS FLOORING!!!!

My husband wanted a quote from them...I didn't after reading their bad reviews. The sales manager came, gave us the sales pitch..I had my doubts about the density & quality, but he promised the carpet was newest technology in manufacturing, and the twist would hold...and has a 30 year warranty if it didn't!!

Well...that sold us and the fact that they would come the next day and install!!

Install went fine...it looked great...for about a month!!

I called them about 10 weeks later because the traffic area in bedroom was matting already and as soon as you vacuumed and stepped on it a few times...it was flattened!

They send one of their own guys to come and look at it, ( I do not think he liked what he saw) then a month later they sent someone from the manufacturing company to look at it.

He did his little test of raking a 18 sq. inch area and took a picture ...no compression at all! (he should have taking another picture once it was stepped on a few times!) Then he sent in his report that my carpet was just fine!!

I've shown pictures of my carpet to Customer Service Manager; Henry and have talked and emailed with Henry many times. He says I should be vacuuming my carpet every couple of days and I could rake it every day!! He also says, that these are not our products, we do not make them!

So, I wonder why they sell such inferior products??

I really feel I was misrepresented by their products and policies!

Express Flooring is prepared to give me the installation free if I buy more carpet from them! That is not going to happen...
