Exotic Custom Cars & Design Reviews
In July 2014 I entered into an agreement to customize my 2012 Abarth with Russell Simpson the Principal of a auto customizing shop known as Exotic Custom Cars and Design located in Huntington Beach Ca. In accordance with our agreement, the work was to take no more than six months. At the start of the job I was invoiced for a total of $11,341 for parts and labor which was a portion of the work which Exotic Custom Cars and Design demanded before any work would start. I agreed and paid the $11,341 by wire transfer. So far, that work has not been completed and I have not received the parts I paid for. The principal of exotic custom cars Russell Simpson has avoided my repeated, regular attempts to verify that the parts I have paid for have been in fact purchased. As for the body work, my car has been sitting in pieces for over 2 and a half years. Also over the 2 1/2 years I have made regular visits to Exotic Custom Cars and Design and each time Mr.
Simpson made what have turned out to be false and misleading statements regarding the progress of my car and the status of the parts I have paid for. On several occaisions, Mr. Simpson told me that parts "were nearly complete" or "they are in the shop I just can't take time to locate them right now" and other false statements. Meanwhile, my car has been destroyed it has been dismantled, the paint destroyed and and the interior has been allowed to deteriorate to the point it needs to be replaced! Each time I confronted Mr. Simpson he gave me his standard line of excuses and lies.
Finally in January 2017 I sent a demand letter to demand Mr. Simpson reassemble my car and refund me the $11,341 which he refused to do. Most recently I took several pictures of my car and had them examined by an expert. He informed me that the car has been totalled and the cost of repairing it would exceed the cars value. Based on this I am starting the process of pursuing civil action against Mr. Simpson to recover my losses.
I feel this kind of theft is among the worst kind because he prays on the dreams of people and uses them for his own profit. I hope that by reading my story someone will learn that it is true that when things appear to be too good to be true they generally are.
