Executive Inn and Suites Wichita Falls Reviews

  • Jan 4, 2021

I was helping a family friend move from Wichita Falls, Texas. She had her things in a storage unit in Iowa Park, just up the road. I made a reservation for a truck late in the day since my friend wasn't sure exactly where she was going to store her things in Oklahoma. There were two locations in Wichita Falls that were open late. I went to the first one and they told me they didn't have any equipment for one way travel. So I reluctantly reserved a truck at the Executive Inn from Rakesh Patel. I say reluctantly, because he has bad reviews on his U-Haul page. Anyway, I went to the Executive Inn to pick up the truck. I had clicked on the in-person option when I reserved on the U-Haul site, because I do not own a cell phone.

I went into the lobby at about 9 p.m. Rakesh told me that I could not rent a truck from him unless I uploaded my drivers license on a cell phone. I told him that I do not own a cell phone and selected the in-person option like I always do with U-Haul and never have any problems with it. He refused to rent me the truck. I told him that I did not want a hard time from him and that I saw negative reviews about his customer service and treatment of U-Haul customers on the internet. I again asked him to honor my reservation and to rent me the truck. He refused and told me to leave his property and that he was going to call the police if I came back. **At no time was I loud or profane with Rakesh. I was wearing a mask and face shield as required when I entered his hotel.** I later emailed his hotel and complained about being treated this way and was told that he was laughing at me for being denied my rental equipment.

My friend wanted to pack the truck at night so she could leave first thing in the morning because there was a big winter storm coming that affected the entire area the next day. But Rakesh would not give me the truck and for some reason kept telling me that he was laughing at me. I have never been treated like this at any U-Haul location. We had to wait overnight to get a truck at a downtown location. The next morning when I rented the truck we used, I was told by that U-Haul customer service agent that all I needed to rent a truck was to have a second name and address. I gave that U-Haul location my friend's name and contact information and was told that Rakesh Patel should have rented me the truck and that I did not need a cell phone or to upload a DL to rent a truck.

We loaded the truck and took it to Oklahoma. On the way, we were caught in the violent winter storm and had to stay overnight in a Walmart parking lot. Our arrival in Oklahoma was delayed and we got to storage there very late at night and had to unload in the freezing cold after the storm had passed. All of this could have been avoided if Rakesh Patel had simply rented me the truck the way U-Haul had promised me on its website. U-Haul did give me a $50 credit for the mischief caused by the U-Haul dealer, but we had to drive in dangerous conditions because of the overnight delay. With all the locations available in Wichita Falls and with all the bad reviews of Rakesh Patel, his franchise needs to be removed because his conduct is discriminatory and caused us to be in danger because of his inexplicable behavior.

Again, I simply went to pick up my truck at the Executive Inn and was mistreated and threatened with police action. When I went to review the location online, the U-Haul site would not let me do so since the rental was not completed there. I wonder how many others have received this treatment from Rakesh Patel and have not been able to review his U-Haul location. This incident has been report to U-Haul corporate.

Here is the email exchange between myself and Rakesh Patel over the incident:

Even your attorney will laugh at you. Like I've been doing since last night. And will everytime I look at a uhaul.

if you were a true christian man, you would not act the way you do, please don't read the good book and not live what it teaches you, many people say are godly, but only when your reading the book, once you shut it you let the devil run your life. religion is not a competition, no one god is better then the other. i feel sorry for your family and the rest of your life. please step back and record yourself and then replay it, you will be truly disgusted at what you see. we can keep on and on with this all day, i can tell your feelings are hurt and now you feel defeated and beat and the fact that you are nothing in the grand scheme of life. i hope you find a uhaul truck today and move out of wichita falls. there is so much negative in your life, you need psychological help and go to church and listen. ill be waiting for your reply. don't say goodbye and then send another response, goodbye is forever.

Here's an idea. Use your computer to take the pictures required by uhaul to upload to uhaul.com. that will solve your problem then you can come back tomorrow and pick up the truck and I'll tell you again......good bye!

No, this email is from a laptop, not a cell phone.

All the members of the Wichita Chamber of Commerce will find out about tonight.

Goodbye.

We are aware of the situation. Clearly you didn't understand the I'd required by uhaul and the advance technology involved with cell phones. When you said you didn't use a cell phone clearly this was an untruth, because you used it to make this comment. We have told uhaul of your behavior while trying to pick up the uhaul and saying you don't have a cell phone. You will have to go and pick up a uhaul somewhere else tomorrow, because your not packing it tonight. Please don't step foot in our hotel again or we will have no choice but to call the police and have you barred. Have a good night and hopefully a better year next year!

To whom it may concern:

Have you read the reviews about Rakesh Patel's Uhaul location in Wichita Falls? He frequently rips off customers and gives your city a bad name. When he denied me my pre-reserved Uhaul truck this evening for no good reason, I promised to sue him.

Such a person should never be allowed to give your city an unfriendly and ripoff reputation.

David Solomon
