This for profit company used up all of my daughter’s insurance benefits and then kicked her out the door the minute they were depleted. They used up her residential benefits, partial hospitalization benefits and her intensive outpatient benefits even though she was never even in the last two! She is much worse off than before we went there. The abrupt disruption of services not only set her back- it impacted her ability to open up and trust people. She is much worse off than before we went here. We are now paying out of pocket for treatment at a newer, smaller program. We can’t afford it- but we will of course sacrifice what we must for our child.
My advice to other parents is simple- If you are looking for a program that really cares about your child, skip programs like Evolve who are out to make a quick buck on your pain.
It took me six days to talk my daughter into giving treatment at Evolve Treatment Centers a try. She was there for 2.5 days when I got a call from Evolve Treatment Centers informing me that my insurance would not cover treatment and I would need to come and pick her up right away.
For the two weeks prior, Evolve Treatment Centers had been promising me that insurance would pay. My daughter had just settled in when they threw her out.
It would have been much better to have done nothing.
I get that the staff at Evolve work hard at keeping things loose and hip to appeal to kids who are out of control. But kids who need treatment also need boundaries.
The things kids got away with in there was crazy. I'm not passing judgement on the kids. My son is no angel. He has been aressted for fighting, stealing, possession of a weapon, etc. I didn't send him to Evolve because he is perfect. Just the opposite.
Regardless, it was disturbing to learn that during his stay a female resident became pregnant, and this circumstance was complicated by the fact that she had had more than one sexual partner during her stay.
We don't know if my son is the father or if it is one of the other boys. We shouldn't be put in a position where we have to deal with this kind of thing. It's not what we signed up for.
