Evolution Travel Reviews
Evolution Travel is the MLM side of Archer Travel. Archer goes out of its way to distance itself from the Evolution side of the business, but Evolution states on their website they are an Affiliate, and the business opportunity partner to Archer. They Proudly display a picture and bio of Ron Archer on their About page.
When I first saw it, I was looking for work as the company I was working for had gone out of business. I am at retirement age and find it hard to find a job.
This seemed like a good opportunity to create my own business and not have to worry about being hired or fired. Once I joined however, it was revealing that many of the people involved said they only joined to get the travel perks and the business came later. The company does have well done training and the ability to get you signed up to several companies, but the training of the individual teams in the "UPLINE" is strictly amateur, and they immediately try to get you to sign up for other "Opportunities" to start making money with.
You must spend a LOT of time both daily, and for the long term to start getting customers. Fair enough. When you do, if that customer cancels or fails to pay or requests a refund, you are held financially responsible. Something no one mentions. It is buried in the paperwork. So, like an insurance agent, you are liable for Chargebacks. They say part of your monthly fee covers you with E&O insurance, but I never saw a policy or any details of it. As a former Insurance Agent, I find that suspicious. And even if true, if you use it even once you will find it hard to renew.
Then I find out you don't get paid for 60 to 90 days after someone takes their vacation. So, you have the time it takes to start getting clients (Not an easy task. You have to bid competitively with other travel agents who know the business far better than you do) and when you do win a bid, then you have to hope they don't cancel. Then if and when they actually do take their trip, you have to wait two to three months after they complete their travel, hope they don't request a refund or have a dispute, or cause damage, before you finally get paid. AND you must be careful to understand the pay.
It appears at first glance you get paid a large commission (Up to 85%) of the booking. Actually, the commission is (I don't remember exactly right this minute) more like 5% to 16%, and of that you get paid up to 85%. The rest of that commission goes to Evolution. I'm sure there are people making money here. I have no proof there isn't. But I imagine the failure rate is quite high.
I have no way of knowing what it is, but the business model would indicate that. There is something earned for signing fees of those you bring in. Not much compared to other Network Marketing companies. There is a monthly fee to remain active (Goes to admin fees and replicated site fees) I think it was $89 per month. May have been $69. I don't remember off the top of my head.
Anyway, they offer a Full Refund of the $49 signup fee within 10 days. I can live with losing $49, but it is the principal of the thing. There were no clear instructions about getting a refund other than to put in a support ticket. At the time, much of their site wasn't working. Like the Travel Cafe that allowed you to see and book deals. So, I put in a request for a refund to support. I closed out the website, and never returned, expecting a refund within 7 to 10 days.
The refund never came. So, I contacted support, and they said that they had sent instruction in the Chat that there were other steps required to get the refund. They acknowledged that I had requested a refund within the Ten Day window but insisted I had not completed the required steps.
I did what they had said to do, which was to request a refund. They said they sent a Chat message within one minute of receiving my request. I had already closed out of the site and my browser and never saw their Chat Message. How then could I have completed their requirements?
They never sent it in an email. They never called or texted me any information. Why would they send it in a Chat on their website and never try to reach me any other way? In my humble opinion, it is because they have no intention of refunding my, or anyone else’s money if they can find a way around it.
In every way, I would recommend everyone STAY AWAY from Evolution Travel and Archer Travel. If you want to be a travel agent, do it the old-fashioned way. Go through recognized training and find a travel agency who will take you on.
There is a TON of stuff to know to be a successful Travel Agent. And about the time I was looking this over Disney lost Sixty Billion dollars when Journalist Christopher Ruffo exposed videos of Zoom Meetings being held between higher-up Disney executives proudly proclaiming their "Gay Agenda" and plans to insert even greater "Queerness" into children’s content. Regardless of how you feel about it, not a good time to be booking Disney travel.
Of course, COVID outbreaks on Cruise Ships and regular reports of Cruise Ship mishaps just made me feel like perhaps this wasn't the best time to learn how to make a living in travel. Certainly, they have a right to disagree with that.
The truth remains however, they sell the idea of becoming a travel agent and don't honestly spell out what is required to be successful, and when you ask for a refund, at least in my case, the totally disrespected me and felt no obligation to accommodate my timely request, or to fulfill their promise.
I gave them a warning that if they didn’t return my money as promised, I would post complaints about their company online. They stood their ground. So here I am making good on my promise. I believe my comments have been reasonable and fair. I know they have been accurate. Look for them to show up on travel sites, opportunity sites and forums, and in search engine results.
$49 I can live without. Their dishonesty and the fact they are willing to have their name and reputation exposed for their fraudulent practices in order to cheat me out of $49 however requires me to expose them for who they are in order to protect others for who $49 may be all they have. Not to mention their crushing someone’s dream or need to create an income.
