Evo Merchant Services stole $17,000 from me. They never told me they were going to hold back an additional 10% of my cc purchases (on top of the 5% they were already charging) They told me they would only hold it for the first 6 months as long as I had no problems. I didn't, so after my 6 months I called to request the refund. That's when they told me they would continue to hold back the 10% and they had up to 240 days to continue holding the $17k they were already holding.
No explanation. Just that "Risk Management" said they weren't giving it back. That was it. Oh ya, once I realized what they were really all about I cancelled as well, and was told there was a $400 cancellation fee... They said I was breaking the contract. Ya because you are stealing from me...They are crooks. I found a class action against them and joining it, but if I can help keep someone else from getting caught up in their scheme, then this report is worth it.
This is the WORST of the worst companies to work with, from their AWFUL web interface, to phone support to email support. The companies a joke. They "terminated” my contract for god knows what reason and then decide to withdraw $900 from my account, FOR NO REASON. Then I request they deposit my $1000+ theyve been holding for MONTHS and they REFUSE and have the balls to say I OWE THEM! This company should be avoided at all cost and shut down ASAP. Terrible. If you see this report and still decide to use these people, you’ll regret it very soon. I ignored the terrible reviews they had and sure enough, I regret working with these clowns.
Had dreams of creating a wood carving business for extra income. Started a merchant card processor to help manage payments. The salesman assured me the only charges would be a calculated percntage of the income. Sounded great.
Got the equipment and tried to install. Numerous attempts with their help didn't change anything. I only had two transactions from my wife's card for $.11 each. They had to be processed by key pad. I then chaged to an Iphone and asked for new software. This was never provided to me.
I was unaware that EVO was charging my bank account each month a monthly fee. In 5 months they charged me $236.00 including $30 for supplies. I would have caught this action if they had sent me a monthly statement like they said they would. No transactions - no statements...ok
I then contacted the company for resolution. They agreed to refund $30 for supplies. Said a decision would happen after the 15th of the following month. I also faxed a cancellation of account to them at the same time.
Called after seeing nothing refunded. New rep. said the following rep started nothing and had no reference to our previous communications. Today I was charged another $54 on a monthly ACH. To date the equipment does not work and they failed to follow through with anything.
Being a retired Vietnam veteran trying to earn a little extra income, this company is one to avoid. NEVER trust what they are saying.
We recently processed a handful of large credit card transactions using EVO Payments between two different legal entities that share common ownership.
The size of the transactions were large so it was understandable that they would be flagged by the risk management department. What happened next was a demonstration of complete incompetence and disregard for the customer service. The transactions were charged to the customer company's credit cards and the billing company was charged the related transaction fees, however, the funds were never released to the billing entity and were held by EVO Payments.
When contacting the Risk Managment Department regarding the issue, I was told to process a return for funds to the customer entity's credit in order for their balance to be corrected. However, since the funds were in fact still being held by EVO payments and I did not have any funds to return.
In conversations with Deborah Towle, the risk analyst who was responsible for the hold on the original transactions, it was evident that this analyst had no understanding of business entities and did grasp the nature of related but separate legal entities. At one point in the conversation, I was accused of conducting illegal bank transactions akin to money laundering and when I asked her to provide the legal or banking laws that I was violating she could not. She then backed down off of that accusation and simply stated that it was the company's policy to not process credit card transactions between related separate legal entities. As a side note, we have been using the converge payment gateway for years to process and have never had any of these accusations. We only considered EVO Payments because our CRM software was compatible with them.
I could have lived with the incompetence of the risk management department but despite the fact, they are the ones who put the transactions on hold, they refused to reverse the transactions and placed all the responsibility on us to deal with the customer service team to process the returns. I do have to point out the customer service team were actually very helpful but even they did not understand the logic suggested by the Deborah Towley.
It has been 21 days still this process has started and I still have not received any refunds for the transaction fees nor have 5 of the 6 original transactions been reversed and they are still showing a debit on the customer credit card. At this point, we are considered other action such as reporting the bank transaction fees as fraudulent with our bank.
My distributor used this company to process my payment for my business for product . After they received my payment they closed my distributors account and and told them because it was a $3500 payment they were closing her account and hold their funds for min 30 days !! BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY. Due to this company my distributor no long accept payments from me because this company kept my payment and my distributor already gave me merchandise.
EVO payments International just decided to hold 19 days worth of credit card receipts because the monthly limit was exceeded. 15 months of processing credit cards without a disputed charge and they gave no notice to holding the funds. The company had to find out by bouncing checks to vendors. After leaving numerous messages and faxing over. Ann statements to prove the credit cards could sustain a chargeback if it happens, EVO still will not release funds or return a call or email with any sort of explanation to why. This is. Ore than $10,000 in held funds, with another $6,500 waiting to process.
Meet a local sales rep for evo payment systems to process my credit card sales in April of 2013, filled out forms to have them be my provider. The rep said he wouldn't file forms for a few days,if I wanted to cancel to call him. I called and cancelled the next day.i never heard from him or company again.
On April of 2016 I noticed charges on my bank statement for a bank card company, then realized they ran 3 years, I write so many checks for my business, I did not notice...my fault, I immediately contacted my bank to stop further money from being taken out. They gave me the name and number of the company who was taking out the money.
I contacted company-EVO, and told them I had cancelled, they said I had never filled out a cancellation form,so therefore they were taking out the minimum account charge And any other account charge they could charge me.they told me they never check accounts for activity,so they wouldn't notice that I never used the account and that all paperwork and communication is done through a website I would have to access...I never accessed since I do not know I was one of their accounts.I called the customer service numerous times, reps said the same scripted reply,I was hung-up on twice.
I have asked for my 3 years of records with their company, as of today...4 days and r phone calls Ned 3 e-mails, no one from the company has sent me my records,I have been told their system is down.the one thing I do find out was they only charge my account once a month, but yet I have been charged twice a month for 35 months..total 3500.00.
This company is one big piece of corporate crap, I have gotten my paperwork together to submit th attorney general of NYS.Do yourself a favor and never deal with this company.
