Seller on OfferUp app solicited laptop for $800 to be processed through escrow service EscrowOS.com. Payment to escrowos.com was made, seller indicated that they shipped the laptop, however no tracking information was provided. Escrowos.com allowed for 5 days for shipment to arrive, it never did. I contacted them to notify them that nothing arrived and I needed to file a dispute against the seller, they wanted me to purchase insurance for the same amount in escrow, with a deposit in the same amount supposedly held in escrow.
I told them that I would go ahead via credit card, so that if I can dispute that deposit amount if something goes wrong. They said they only accept crypt o currency, which is not what their terms of service stated. I informed them that I would be reporting this to the cyber crimes unit, and all communications ceased. All communications were via chat service in their web site.
