I purchased an overhaul kit through Rudy's Diesel Engine Parts which is a vendor that sells Esco Engine parts. The parts were for Detroit Diesel Series 60 engine The overhaul kit was installed and I dtove the truck for 50 miles back to my residence.
I checked the engine to see if there was any leaks and found that oil or fuel was leaking out of the manifold junctions. I drove the truck back to the shop to have this problem checked out. The shop informed me it could be an injector problem, I had new injectors installed which did not correct the problem.
At this point the head was removed to check it out as it was overhauled with new valves and injector tubes and seals to see if there was a problem with the head. The head checked out ok. Next step was that the rings were bad - The engine was disassembled and the rings were found to be defective.
Esco Industries was informed of the problem and new rings were sent out and the defective rings were sent to Esco Ind. The rings were sent to the address on the warranty form which the post office informed me that they could not deliver the rings as the address on Iowa Ave was an empty building. The post office did some research and found a PO Box for this company and delivered it.
I then received an email informing me that Oscar wanted a letter from the mechanic describing the problem with the defective rings and if the letter was not sent by mail l nothing will be done as far as the waranty. I got the letter from the mechainc and sent it to Oscar at Esco Industries as specified in the email. This letter was sent by registered mail.
I checked the tracking number and it arrived at the post office for pickup to the PO Box as specified by Oscar in his email. I checked to see if the letter had been picked up and it was not. I called Esco Ind to see why the letter was not picked up and was told that Oscar was the only one with the key to the PO Box anf he was off that day.
I checked the following week as the letter was not picked up- I called Esco again and was told that this person who was not Oscar had gone to the post office and there was no letter there.
I called the post office and was informed that the letter was still there and that there was two notices in the post office box regarding this letter- after calling Esco numerous time the letter was finally picked up 30 days after arriving at the post office.
At this time I have not recieved any correspondence from Oscar at Esco Ind. and it has been over 3 weeks since the letter was delivered. The invoice for correcting the defective rings with new rings was $4,000.00
I have done some checking on the internet and found that the owner of the company is

Also there is one report from a previous employee on how the parts made in the USA are switched with parts made in Taiwan and then sold as US parts
So Beware Do not buy any parts fron this company as they will not honor any warranty and will give you the run around on any issue you have with their parts
