Good : They do not cheat you on the contract to move a shipment. They have good well maintained trailers. They have city drivers in Chicago, Salt Lake City and California. The city drivers preload for over the road drivers or regional drivers which is very convienant.
Bad : If you are an owner operator absolutely do not work for them. Their dispatching SUCKS! They care more about the company drivers for obvious reasons. ES Express is out of business for BIG BROKERS! Quality Logistics, Landstar, Schneider. I am not sure what other brokers. I verifyed with these brokers that ES Express is blocked from business because of "Double Booking" aka rebook a load. That's a sleezy way to make money on a shipper!!!!
Ugly: They cheat you on detention pay. Your dispatcher will bully you on detention compensation. They stole from me on all my detentions except only one time when I had to pay for a hotel after a 12 hour wait. I was extremely cautious to submit my 2 week notice because I knew these guys would love nothing more than rip me off. It took me over an month to recieve my "DEPOSIT" and they withheld $60 dollars for two straps that they said they never recieved but I actually gave to them. When you exit out the door they will cheat, lie and steal.
These guys are doing Illegal things with this transportation company. They run solo drivers 6000 miles a week. They dont allow drivers to take a 10 hr break. They dont allow drivers to take a 34 hr reset. They have drivers drive over 14 hrs a day. They dont pay drivers they hold 3 to 4 weeks of all drivers pay checks. If truck breaks down they tell you to find your own way home. They make illegal bill of ladens to show dot that they are legal. I was also told that they have drivers smuggling in people and terrorist from State to country lines. This company is full of illegal activities. They need to be investigated and shutdown. They owe alot of past drivers salaries that they do not want to pay. Treat drivers like slaves and rob the drivers
