Crivelli Chevy dealer gave an estimate of 2150.00 to repair my 2017 Chevy Silverado that was keyed along the passenger side of the door all the way to the back. My son-in-law Ned is doing the repair. David Koroczyk 724-772-7719 said he would mail the check for 2150.00 to me so Ned can do the repair.
He lied, never mailed it. When I called to ask why I was transferred to a Rick 724-971-3827. He would not give me an answer. Instead he wanted to know if I still had a loan on the truck. I do, but that does not matter. I AM PAYING ERIE INS TO COVER THE TRUCK ----- NOT GM FINANCIAL.
GM FINANCIAL is no concern of Erie Ins. Their only concern is to insure my truck. They are refusing to issue me a check 2150.00 that is a legitimate appraisal amount. I told them State Farm simply comes out, inspects the vehicle, write the check before they leave and hands it to the insured. They do not care if the vehicle has a loan or not.
On Crivelli's computer everything is all set up for Erie Ins for appraisals. This coupled with their refusal to issue me the appraisal amount leads me to believe they are receiving a kick back from Crivelli and other auto dealers and repair shops. This is why I am filing this complaint. I immediately want Erie Ins to cover my claim and issue 2150.00 to me so Ned can do the repair. That is all the communication Iwant with them.
I had insurance over 10 years with Campbell Insurance Agent Geoff Campbell ,had policies thru Erie Insurance, Erie Pa., had notice in Oct 2021 that policy payments due Nov 14 2021. They had continued to go up so I shopped around and saved over $1000 per year with State Farm, Got new coverage on Nov 5 2021 on house, car and farm.
I let the policy lapse thru Erie. Then in Dec 2021 thru Feb 2022 I kept getting mail from Erie, assumed it was junk mail and shredded it. Now in April I get 3 letters from collection agency wanting payments for Nov 14 2021 thru Jan 2022. When I checked into it Erie claims it's their policy to continue coverage until I notify them. I said effective date of notice showed Nov 14 2021 was date that policy ran out.
They said no their policy coverage continued until I call or send them proof I have coverage with another company. I thought how stuip it was for me to have to show them their competitors price and coverage. Basis economics is if you don't pay your phone, electric, water cable house payment,or car payment, then those companies notify you in advance, but Erie waited until Dec 2021(their claim) that they need me to notify them that I no longer wanted their service and had sent a notice in Jan and animal notice in Feb 2022 that I no longer had insurance.
I contacted my agent at Campbell Insurance in Harrogate TN and I showed him my policies, there's no language in them or original policy back on 2014 that says anything about continued service until I notify them. He says that's Erie's policy. I explained to him, with nothing in writing and no verbal confirmation that I was not under any of Erie's policy because it was never spoken nor did I sign an agreement to that.
They underestmate the actual cost if the damage so they pay you as little as possible and then when you shellout your monry to get the work done, they Refuse TO PAY THE DIFFERENCE. STAY AWAY FROM THIS RIPOFF INSURANCE COMPANY!!
On 8/17/21 Erie insured driver backed out of parking space at the P.O. Hit my left front bumper with his back left bumper. I was standing still at the time, leaned on my horn loud and long, he still kept coming, then proceeded to go forward and leave. I kept leaning on the horn and he stopped. Driver's wife in backseat asked if I was all right and said not to worry they have insurance.
Deputy in P.O. heard my horn, came out to investigate, wrote a report. Erie driver did not report accident to Erie. I had to a week later. Erie adjuster on 9/07 assessed the damage to my car and on 9/15 I received a notice that Erie would not honor the claim. Spoke to Supv. Kelly Ahlers, still rejected the claim.
Erie has a flawed claims payment process. There are many complaints about them online, and many of them from their own insured. Saw 116 complaints on BBB, but there is a lot more out there. I am making my voice heard as much as possible and would be open to any information as to what can be done to stop companies such as this one who is unjustified in treating people this way.
Brittny Stewart, Brittny Ruff Stewart is the worst Inside Claims Representative that works for Erie Insurance in Erie Pa at the Corprate office. From day 1 , it has been nothing but a hassel trying to file a claim with Jessica. She is very rude and ignorant on the phone. When she calls , she doesn't leave a voicemail. So you have no idea who she was and the reason she was calling. I had called and left a few messages and she doesn't return any phone calls. I had to call in to the office and give them a fake name just to get her on the phone. She is a nasty person who shouldn't even be in customer service and doesn't take her job serious. I'm sure I'm not the only one who has been treated this way by her. I have been trying to file a claim for about 13 days now , along with video evidence. She keeps playing games saying that she didn't receive my videos. I would seriously caution anyone that is with Erie Insurance and deals with the Inside Claims Rep Brittny Stewart. I'm going to be filing a BBB Complaint as well.
In August 2018, our vehicle was parked on a hospital parking lot. When we went back to get it, we found that someone had damaged it on the right side. This damage could only have occured by someone attempting to park in the space next to us on the right side. Further inspection revealed that the damage done to our vehicle was done by a red vehicle which left paint on our vehicle.
The vehicle, still parked next to ours was the same red color. This vehicle had a damaged molding on the front left side and on this molding was our gold paint. We took some pictures of the vehicle and got the license number. Evidently, the other vehicle made a left turn into the space, cutting to close and grazing our right rear.
Then finding that they were too close to exit their vehicle, they cut to the right and backed up. This is when they struck our right door with the molding.
Unable to find out who the other driver was, we reported this accident to our insurance company. Our company, Esurance, was kind enough to pay for the damage except for the $500.00 deductable.
We later found that the other driver, Carol Tolbert, had Erie Insurance. Erie will not pay the claim despite overwhelming evidence and we are stuck with a $500.00 loss due to Carol Tolbert's carelessness. We feel the Erie is acting in an irresponcible way and is protecting their client by not sharing more information that would help prove our case.
They are a big company with lots of money and resources. So, they think they can just screw over the little man and get away with it. We advise others to drop Erie and get a reputable company to insure them.
Todd Haeger contacted Dennis Munn and hired him to do repairs on home after the home-owner and I had contacted the Fire Restoration Specialists of Ashland to do our repairs. Mr Haeger called to tell FRSA that we had decided to go with another company before we were even notified of his buddy. We were not acquainted with this man and did not want him to do the repairs.
The contractor charged Erie for replacement of hardwood floors which he never replaced. He did the kitchen floor with laminate-not hardwood. Others were never done.
Items were taken from the home by his crew that were supposed to have been cleaned and returned. We found out 3 months later that they had been taken! FRSA had guaranteed we would be back in the home in 6 weeks. Munn Restoration took from May till November 1 to finish the job!!
Because terrible things can happen, such as the total loss of a home due to fire, tornado or other disaster, a homeowner must be able to trust the insurance company providing that coverage. I have lost my trust and confidence in Erie Insurance for providing that coverage, and the risk with keeping Erie Insurance became too high. My first and only homeowners claim experience with Erie was the most negative experience with any company I have had in my 60+ years of life on this earth.
Here are bullet points summarizing my experience:
• Erie claims adjuster told me over the phone before he had seen my roof that he knew there would be no damage because he had seen houses in the community and they had not suffered damage. In the same call, the claims adjuster got upset when I mentioned my contractor would go up on the roof with him, saying “they are all just salespeople.”
• On the day of the first inspection, the adjuster arrived early and then said in a sarcastic tone “I’m not waiting and I’m going up on the roof now.” My contractor told me later that the adjuster did not want to engage in conversation with him. The adjuster later rang my doorbell and said he did not see damage but that he had to go over the results with me. I was working from home and told him I would follow up with the company later. He appeared displeased and insisted he had to discuss the results with me. I firmly told him I could not do it at that time. He sulked and walked off.
• I obtained the name of the adjuster’s supervisor and expressed my frustration at the adjuster’s attitude. The supervisor played down the adjuster’s attitude and then stated his adjuster had witnessed the contractor “damaging the roof” and that in cases like that they “contacted law enforcement.” He further went on to say there had been no damage in my community and that no Erie roofs had been replaced.
• Later I wrote the Erie corporate office and expressed concern about the law enforcement statement. They wrote a very formal letter back playing down the comment and said that a second adjuster had been trying to contact me. This was true, but it was a very busy month for me at work, and I had to focus on that so that I would not lose my job. So I reached out to a contractor from a different company and asked him to call and set up an appointment with the second Erie adjuster who had been trying to reach me.
• I could not personally attend the second inspection (I was working) but my second contractor later called me and said two people had showed up for Erie- an Erie adjuster and an independent contractor they had hired to bolster their case. At that point I was getting very aggravated with Erie’s handling of my case.
• I followed up with my “independent” insurance agent who sold Erie, and she provided me with the name of a manager in the claims office because she had worked with him in the past. I contacted the manager and he said that there was a lot of fraud going on in my community by contractors, because we were in the periphery of the storm and there was really no damage in my community (parroting what the earlier supervisor had said). He went on to say that the other insurance companies were not even going up on the roofs (not true). It seemed to me that he was either using that as an excuse, or that he was resentful of the other insurance companies.
• Later, I spoke with another person in my community who said they also had Erie Insurance and that their roof had been replaced, and said the problem may have been my Erie claims adjuster. She gave me the name of her agent, who I called. In the course of the casual conversation the agent said he had looked at all the pictures from Erie roofs that had been replaced and those that had not, and that “there was really no damage on any of them.” At that point I realized that Erie had in fact replaced several roofs in my community, the direct opposite of what I was told.
• Very recently I saw my first contractor in the neighborhood, and stopped to talk with him. He said he was very surprised Erie had denied my roof since it was no different from all those around me (all of which have now been completely replaced). He then told me that he had met with Erie adjusters on four other homes that had been fully replaced. This is the same contractor that the Erie supervisor said had been damaging my roof and that in cases like that they “contact law enforcement.” I want to make it clear that my chief complaint is Erie’s incompetent handling of my claim, which included deceit and extremely poor customer service. It became very clear that I could never trust them again. It’s actually shocking to me personally, since I have a superior credit and payment history- I have a very high (numerous times=850) FICO score, and I’ve never submitted a claim until this time. I subsequently dropped Erie for both homeowners and auto and am very happy about that. God help me if I still had Erie and then something terrible happened, like my home burning down and then being denied for getting our home rebuilt.
I love my family too much to allow that to happen. So, I find it imperative to inform others of what they may be dealing with if they are considering Erie for insurance coverage. Note to others wishing to complain about Erie: Erie uses many independent agents to sell their insurance. But the corporate office in Erie Pennsylvania is ultimately responsible and should be the address used for complaints. Otherwise multiple complaints get “washed out” because of the many different addresses of independent agents who peddle their junk insurance.
Please do not conduct business with Erie Incurance Company, My vechicle was stollen in front of my home in July 2016 in the Bronx, New York. I was an Eire policy holder with full comprehensice coverage. My vechilcle was recovered some 45 days later by the N.Y.P.D.and I was notified to where I could view and recieve my vechile. Upon viewing the vechcile I witnessed several dents and scratches to the body of the car. All four aluminum mag wheels were severely dented and goughed and all four tires where damaged with chunks missing from the sidewalls and were un-roadworthy and dangerious, posing a threat for my entire family and or passengers. Additionaly all my pocessions from car were stollen and not present upon recovery.
The claim was approximately $4,900.00 for damages and I was told by Eire Insurance that they would cover me and my wife for $350.00 each for a toal of $700.00 for lost items. Each month that either my wife, myself and later on two attorneys, had called the claims center for the claim payment , we were told a myriad of several purdurious lies. We were given so-called check numbers and mailing dates but never recieved one dime for the claim. We were told that a personal courrier would deliver the check to our home on several occaions in whcih either my wife or myself stayed home from work, losing pay, to recieve the the said payemnt , all to no avail. They had even stooped so low as to tell me that the payment was delivered to my address but in another Boro.
I will be contacting my local news services and the State Insurance Board on the above matter.
I am putting Eire Insurance Company and its' emplyees on notice that any and all damages and or injuries to any and all property and persons as a direct result of my vechicle not being able to be rightfully repaired as per your contractural obligations , as it is being operated in an unsafe state due to your breach of contract in deniying my claim payemnt.
I will reserve all rights and remediies under the law.
Erie Insurance denied my claim because of my Christion Views
Over six years ago I purchased a policy with Erie insurance, to cover my farm home and auto, I simply shopped for the best rate and did not look into the company’s policies. November 6 of 2015 I had a catastrophic house fire that resulted in a total loss. The insurance company put me up in a hotel room but soon after started waffling. At first I could not figure out why I gave them everything they wanted I submitted to their EUO, even gave them all my emails between me and my private adjuster. As of July 7, 2016 they denied my claim, without giving any factual reason why. At which time I decided to look into Erie insurance and see who exactly I was dealing with when I ran across their homosexual agenda.
It seems that Erie insurance not only supports the LBGT movement they actually fund and give large amounts of money to promote Sodomy.
I have run a YouTube channel for a long time which on many occasions I have spoken out against the sodomites as a clear and present danger to this country, I also know that Erie investigators looked through my videos looking for evidence of wrongdoing at which time they came across my anti-Sodom and Gomorrah views and my pledges of allegiance to Jesus Christ. As I stated in the video that I am attaching to this letter at a website I have just started. Now we know the rest of the story as to why Erie insurance was waffling and dragging their feet for so long and finally denying my claim, thus leaving me out hundreds of thousands of dollars in expenses and items I will never be able to recoup, all because of my Christian views.
additionaly:
Around July 2016 Erie insurance has gone is far as to file suit against me to get the monies they advance me for the hotel room back and in the suit has not presented one shred of evidence to their claim that everything I filed was fraudulent! If Erie’s claims of arson and insurance fraud were true why is the sheriff not out here putting me in handcuffs? I was already cleared by the county fire Marshal and the state bomb and arson squad that were called because of my reloading equipment exploding during the fire. Erie insurance has absolutely no evidence of any of their accusations nor could they possibly have any evidence of something that never happened! This is a clear case of prejudice simply because of my religious views. However they had no problem taking money from me every month for the past six years!
