Senior client of mine shared with me this scam. He received a letter from Equity Connect Co. Saying she had won $500,000 dollars and there was a check enclosed for $7,7998.80 (check writte on the account of Primerica life insurance comany of Duluth GA.) Said that check was for the taxes and shipping and handling on getting the rest of the prize money to the "winner". Crazy what people will try to do. I reported a Copy of the check to Primerica Life Insurance Company, that is a legit company in Duluth Ga. incase there accounts have been compromised.
I called the number on the letter just to see what they would say, person that answered had very thick accent, could not understand him, and when I asked for him to repeat what he said he hung up on me.
Sending letter thru post office with a check from smart financial houston texas foe 7998.80 to pay taxes on 500000 lottery i never entered suppose to call ben kennedy at 17787140589 before cashing check
I received a check in the mail in the amount of $7998.80 from Nissan North America, Inc. along with a letter from Equity Connect Co stating I won a second category prize of the International gerneral market survey for the amount of $500000.00. I never did a survey but figured right away this was just another scam. I did call Nissan North America, Inc. and reported to them that this company was sending checks out with their name on them. Emailed tham a copy of the check and letter. When I searched for this company name on the internet didn't see anything about a scam so figured I needed to report it. Dawn Bassler [email protected]
The check for 7998.80 US was the advance on the prize amount of $492,001.20...You are advised to not act on the letter until you've called claim agent Ben Kennedy.Calling him got one direction: bank the check. My banker checked on the internet to confirm the whole thing is a scam. It appears that the follow up
becomes a request for a refund of part of the funds for the check was incorrect, ...that is the begining of the scam....
