So basically We have had the vehicle for 8 months. Purchased a Premium 72 Month 60,000 mile extended Warrantee. Vehicle recently experienced ticking which we though was the exhaust. Informed from the exhaust shop that it was the engine or transmission and to go to the dealer. Brought vehicle to dealer, they said it needed an oil change (Oil is in my driveway so it was leaking somehow), which was done. Said ticking was better. ticking came back and we called to make an appointment however they could not get us in and due to work and weekend we did not schedule. Car died and was towed to the shop. Informed that they would talk to the company and let us know if it was approved. informed on 11/28/2015 that it was denied, dealer claims lack of maintenance records. Called and spoke with rep on Monday and she said it was denied due to lack of lubrication and said it may have been due to the oil change.
I asked why they would not cover it as they said we did the proper maintenance however we shoudl know if the oil is low??? I explained no light came on, we heard a tick and had it checked. We did our due dillegancy. she said if we could prove we went to the muffle place to have it checked it would be helpful. (which we did) sent documentation. After a few days we were informed again that it was declined and that was it. I called dealer repair manager and he contacted someone at EFG who agreed to approve the claim but only pay for half of it. I just received the inspection report and on one page it says Cause of Failure Symptoms sen are consistant with a lack of lubrication at some time. Then on another page it says Any lack of lube damages? and the response is NO.
Ultimetly the failure was number 3 rod bearing has spun, and crankshaft is scored at this location. they noted discoloration of all the bearings and signs of a dry start, or low oil condition on the bearings. they note the oil change done on 11/12, and notes this may be related to the current failure, either a dry start or not enough oil being added to the engine.
Basically they know what happenned but dont know when. I purchases a warrantee as I had no idea what we bought. if this damage was there and it was from the recent oil change. either way a warrantee should protect me. I did my oil changes and maintained the vehicle yet I am supose to know all the ins and outs.
I am at the end of my rope. It seems no one can talk to me, all they say is have the service manager call someone but yet no one can give me written information or talk to me. This is a scam.
Aftre getting our 2004 trailblazer my wife thought it would be a good idea to get a warranty for it being that it has high miles (163.510).so she did reserch on a company called Forevercar sounded wonderful. the Lady on the phone said no matter what its covered our concerns where that the engine had high miles and could be worn out the lady said keep your maintenance up and you will be fine. after this we were told we had to drive the suv 1000 miles and 30 days sounded good to us so we use this suv for church so not to many miles get put on it. we desided to go on a trip and all heck broke loose. our engine started to knock and our service light soon came on and a clicking in the right rear and a ball joint on the driver side and cruse controle mesed up alittle we never drove far at one time. so any way we called the no# 877-838-3322 that said on our contract from Enterprise Financial Group inc thats right forevercar as i checked has a good rateing lol so thats how they get you when you check BBB on Enterprise Financial Group inc not good after this all started I checked with the Attorney General AND ASKED THEM (Mike Dewine) Office what to do they said this company was under many different investigation I added mine to the pile.getting back to this i took it into McDaniels chev here in marion oh very good folks they called service contract told them my engine needed to be replaced they said we had to pay for a teardown of 500 so there inspector could look at it when he finly came he said it was a lack of oil and no records of oil change. well there was no oil because of the breakdown and we had records of a oil change what records would we have we just got this Suv they said its not covered do to running with no or very low oil .the man that looked at it told me his self i needed to get someone else to look at it his hands were tied something fishy. when we did everything they said it still didnt make a diffrence. i call almost every day no one calls me back .supervisers are ugly to you worthless company shame on them .if you have a inspector by the name jim thompson 614-204-0510 run i asked if i can have someone come in and look at it nope now that i have all my repair records they say to late the car dealer said he has never had this bad of a company .so stay away do your reserch. we are having to have our suv repo becouse of this but i pray this will help some one not make the same mistake. not only will we take a hit on our credit we still are out 500 teardown fee and we traded my husbands truck in on this .so when you look at it we lost 2 vehicles .this is so wrong in so many ways thanks for leting me vent
